You wouldn't think so just due to the way cloud saves and what not take place. Probably just need to force the update if it didn't update already.

Edit: Wait you're not on XBox anymore are you?

Yeah I’m on Series X / Game Pass with it. You’re probably right.

It does write over the existing file. Ray Tracing mode looks really nice, I prefer it to balanced at the moment. They even provided a free ray tracing skin for the Ballista so you can walk around with ray tracing in front of you at all times, haha.
So far the only games I've played with RT is Wathcdogs Legion on XSX and Miles Morales on PS5. Both were big noticeable improvements. But for a game this fast I'm not sure I'd notice Ray-Tracing but of course I'll check it out.

It's more noticeable than I was expecting, lots of materials in the game offer reflections. Ray traced lighting as well, which really changes how certain areas look. I played through the first level in both modes, they looked quite different due to the lighting differneces.

Played through a number of levels last night checking out the new graphics options on XSX. It was already one of the best looking games on last gen consoles, now it's even nicer.

My Eternal skills are garbage now though, I was dying more than I'd like to admit, may have to do the Ancient Gods expansions on easy.

lol nothing wrong with playing on Easy, especially as a grown ass adult. We don't have the time to get frustrated like we used to

Aside from reflections, can't tell the difference. Still get 144 fps in 4K, Ultra Nightmare graphics settings though.

I'll be doing a runthrough on easy myself. I gave up on the game last year because the difficulty spikes were ridiculous.

The first level of Ancient Gods is pretty awesome looking with Ray Tracing, lots of wet surfaces with reflections.

I don't understand why developers still use a low quality AF unlike the PC. It's technically free.

Start playing this again.

Some of the puzzle jump dealies are so annoying.

As for the basic gameplay, it's weird at first I get over run and my ass kicked by the larger mobs. After watching a gameplay vid and spending points in the menu system for Weapon and Suit upgrades it started getting better. I also tried mixing it up with the Freeze Grenade and use the torch more for armor.

I dunno I think I have a lot of ingrained battle style from DooM 2016 and the fighting or managing mobs in this game are different and it takes me a while to get used to it.

Try to equip the perk for more control while jumping if you've unlocked it, it helps greatly with the jumping / swinging sections.

Interesting, when I previously looked at the power I just thought of it in terms of combat and didn't think much about it because I couldn't tell from the preview thumbnail what difference it might be. I did think about these stupid puzzle jumps.

Got a little further in, but the Archvile is a pain. Wondered if anyone had a strategy for it.

Need to kill this thing before it spawns to many demons.

Hunt it down the moment you know one is present, use the strongest weapons you have on it ASAP. I BFG-ed the SOB on several occasions! Once you get a "secret" one hit kill weapon later in the campaign, use that every time.

Sonofabitch that was AWESOME. I have a computer that will run this game beautifully, but I recently had to send back my mobo as it was getting a bit sketchy, which I've just received back . I'll have this moster up and running by the end of tomorrow evening. :hehe:

I finally beat it with rockets and the Freeze Grenade then the Mini-Gun.

Of course right after this is a huge ridiculous mob with a Doom Hunter.

Just a thought on progression.

I have decided to just skip the Slayer Gate during the Campaign. I'm reading comments on Reddit saying the bonus Unmaykr weapon is an underwhelming reward, though fun with the Unlimited Ammo Cheat on play through.

My understanding is going back in Mission Select and using Cheats doesn't affect progression, so I'm thinking of using Cheats to beat most of the Slayer Gates.

I have the Unlimited Ammo and Weapons Mastered Cheat and I'm very fond of the Mobile Turrent with no overheat Mastered.

It's definitely fun with unlimited ammo, but since it uses the same ammo pool as the BFG, I agree that it's probably not worth it for a normal play through. You can definitely get it by going back and replaying the mission on easier difficulty or with some of the cheats enabled.

They need to just add the push mower of death.

Aight so I discovered playing Mission Select with Cheats disables Slayer Gates. It basically deletes the Slayer Gate Key from the map.

I tried Exultia again without cheats and got it no problem. Even though I didn't use cheats, I still have more guns and abilities now making it easier to beat.
