In our latest dev update, members of the 343 Industries team discuss the studio's priorities, player experience goals, and offer details on what you can expect with #HaloInfinite in the coming months.
- Season three delayed until March 2023
- Split-screen co-op has been COMPLETELY cancelled
- Campaign co-op & replay delayed until November
- Forge delayed until November
-
Hopefully it will be out finally in November, a year from launch
Agreed. As of now, there is no need for me to go back to Halo Infinite, ever. No campaign DLC still announced. Time for 343 to get a gutting, or give Halo to a more capable team."Campaign coop will be available soon after launch" = 1 year later?
343 really seems like a poorly managed, directionless mess of a company.

4 people. I think one is on PTO.WTF is happening at 343? Must be like 5 people working on the game.
That would be a good idea.If the Activision acquisition goes through, I'd give Sledgehammer, Treyarch or Infinity Ward a go too.
From what their devs used to imply on reddit it was purely a management issue. Phil needs to pay someone big bucks to move over to clean house at their studioI gave up on Infinite shortly after I finished the campaign.
343 definitely needs a management shake up from top to bottom. They obviously despite being built specifically for Halo cannot handle the IP. Phil doesn't have the stomach for it it seems but arm chair quarterbacking, I'd reassign 343 to a new IP or something non halo related and let my other studios have a crack at it like iD software or Machine Games. If the Activision acquisition goes through, I'd give Sledgehammer, Treyarch or Infinity Ward a go too.

Halo Infinite is a mess at this point. The campaign obviously had a good amount cut from it, and multiplayer, while good, lacks content and QOL stuff. Halo 4 and 5 were good. Halo 4 had a great story that did much to expand the universe. Unfortunately, most of it was “locked” behind Smartglass implementation. Halo 5’s story wasn’t a high point, but it’s multiplayer was outstanding, responsive, and had a higher skill gap. Here's the thing. I don't have faith that Phil will make that move unless Nadella himself orders it. I'd go out on a limb and wouldn't be surprised if he was part of the issue as well.
343i isn't a new studio. It's shipped 4 games. Each with their own myriad of problems and complaints. As the saying goes: Once Is Chance, Twice is Coincidence, Third Time Is A Pattern.
343i has shown isn't built to make a Halo game that's on par with any Bungie developed Halo IMO. And that's ok. But for Phil keep 343i, Bonnie Ross, etc on Halo expecting better results every time is well..... insanity.
Get Bungie back to learn how to make content quicker
Except Destiny didn’t exactly hit the ground running either. Halo Infinite is bombing, but Destiny’s start isn’t one to emulate.
Those are registered players only, not active, and you could register via the free demo. It’s metacritic was in the mid 70’s, well below Halo Infinite. I played it, it was barren and disjointed at launch.Destiny had 13 million players in 3 months from launch which grew to 16 million by 5 months, then 20 million in 8 months, 25 million by end of year 1.
They were doing pretty good as you actually had to pay for the game too whereas Halo is a free to play.
Having said that, anything would be better than this right now. Let's see how November will be with the promised coop.

Lol, ok.Still better support than what 343 has done so far with Infinite.
Also Destiny was something new at the time, people didn't know what the Vault of Glass raid would be like so people were prepping in different ways for something they did not know what to expect, there was excitement , mystery suspense and community was thriving online with people just grinding levels/loot and finding new things every week. Loot cave comes to mind. Once the raid came out, it just took off and never looked back even though it had its ups and downs. Hard to say the same for Infinite right now without official modes for Forge and coop still.

Just give me some gd multiplayer maps. You've got like 100 at your disposal, port them over and be done with itThe weird thing is they nailed the gameplay. MP feels better than it has in a long time. And SP was great.
It is puzzling because they don't really need to fix the game, just give us... content.
I don't think it is management. It isn't like the vision isn't here. They've reportedly been losing developers left and right. I think they just lack coders to bang out content. The bones for a good game are here. It already is a good game. it isn't like people are asking for major rethinking of the game, we just want more.
