A completely new IP selling over 1m in a month = not good to someone on the Internet.

It's no Forspoken.

It's really not considering the multiplatform and 25+million Gamepass subscribers. Koei Tecmo didn't mention much either in their financials, that should give you a hint. Forspoken sold not as well as expectations either so what's your point ?

Nearly 4M players in just over a month isn't bad.
1M on sales isn't bad. Studio still open.

3 Xbox games.

0 Playstation games.

And still struggling to sell more new Xbox consoles than last gen Playstation. Go figure
And record revenue, 3-4 million ahead of the 360 launch aligned, growing subscriber base, record number of studios, multiple first party games releasing in 2023, and next gen console in development.

Needed to invest 7.5 billion first to do that, significant decrease in hardware sales in just the third year, cutting thousands in Xbox staff, they better have some heavy hitters coming to balance that. Starfield and then some.

Every time I see NSW my mind automatically inserts an F after the S

But the other guy is right as well and not the only one pointing it out. Software isn't selling as well compared to consoles.

So why are people buying consoles but not games?

I sure as hell won't buy new games for $70. Especially for the type of trash being released on the PS5 or Xbox right now.

In the 5 months of owning mine:
- Horizon FW = $35
- Uncharted 4 & LL upgrade = $10
- WRC 9 = $7

I was buying 3 new games or more a month during the PS4 era.

They sold more software revenue this fiscal year than last year. They sold more hardware revenue this fiscal year than last. They are up across the board in all categories in the chart for the year.

Gaming revenue was down.

Actually it was up.

OI was down due to increase in costs and acquisitions.

PlayStation is the first home console manufacturer to pass 500 million sold

These are the sales of each PlayStation home console;

PS 102.5m
PS2 155m
PS3 87.4m
PS4 117m
PS5 38.4m

The updated PS5 figures put the total at 500.5 million. That is half a billion consoles. Incredible milestone and with 30 years of PlayStation on the horizon too.
