The original is a cult classic and captures a period so well that I'm skeptical. If it's a continuation, then I'm curious.

Personally, I'd make the location Santa Cruz and it's about Vampires, but distant itself from anything Lost Boys. Let the audience think for themselves. Too many are going to boo it because they are constantly thinking of the original.
