Regardless of the specs, the ability to get on the internet with $38 table it going to open up the internet to a lot of people. Of course they will still need internet access which will cost more money but the barrier to entry has been dropped. There's a $100 version coming out that will have unlimited 2g? access as well.

The hardware maker will also sell a $100 version of its tablet, called the UbiSlate 7C+, that ships with 1 year of free web browsing over old Edge networks (the same cellular technology that 2007’s first-generation iPhone connected to).
