I agree with this. Not sure it qualifies him for best cop but it doesn't warrant him being fired for it either. A suspension is warranted but not a job loss.
And the person who made it public is an asshat. He met a cop who many would deem "cool," but then turns around and puts this cops job on the line. Nice way to treat the cool cop, eh? I guess he wanted his 15 minutes?

did you watch their speed? they didn't go fast all they did was take off quick. Good clean fun imho
They hit 70+ at one point. They hovered in the 50's and 60's. That road looks like it's a max 40mph in-city highway. While they weren't going 80+ they were definitely 10-20 over the speed limit often. But still, no reason to get fired which he didn't.
I have no problem with police having "good clean fun" when they're off duty, but not when they're on duty or using police vehicles. If the cop was hurt, who would pay for the medical care? If the guy filming was hurt, killed or injured someone else, who would be responsible? Taxpayers would be on the hook.
Moreover, he's a cop who enforces laws. It seems a bit hypocritical to me for him to violate laws he's supposed to enforce.
Even if you dont exceed the speed limit there is a little ticket able offence called "Exhibition of Acceleration"

I saw that video somewhere the other day. No idea where.
That cop had speed and a good tackle.
The first cop is struggling to catch him, but then that 2nd guy is like the hulk, starts from way further back and catches him and tackles him. I thought it was funny...
The guy that just walks up like WTF is all the fuss about is my favorite. It's like you could see him thinking, "carry on boys, fine work".....
Then there is some cop who comes in a little later when there are already 12 guys on top of the dude and starts hitting him with his baton. I'm sure that was needed.
I lol'd. The difference in speed between the first and second cop was insane. Almost like the first guy didn't really want to catch the suspect.
