Might have to just push this and a couple other games to Christmas. No time to play. Looks awesome though.

5/5

This is the scenery-chewing brilliance that the mecha genre's all about. I've had nothing less than a huge grin on my face the entire way through my silky-smooth, 30-odd hour campaign playthrough, because this is as good as it gets. With its uncanny ability to mix approachability with complexity, lean action with combat depth, Armored Core 6 sets the new standard for what mecha games can do.

"That said, at the risk of rehashing tired old arguments, I am disappointed by the lack of difficulty settings and accessibility features. The campaign is entirely single player and mission-based, so there's no reason not to have, at the very least, an easy mode. There's plenty on offer here for folks who want to test their skills to the limit, but anyone who finds themselves struggling (or has accessibility needs) is out of luck. "

I can't wait to jump into this game tonight. We get a lot of hyper realistic shooters but Mech games, not so much. Its refreshing and I hope this starts a trend with more Mech games. At the very least, I hope one day to get a proper Gundam game with co-op, I ignore the competitive online Gundam games. I want a mission based co-op game with deep customization. I'll take Armored Core in the meantime.

It's too hard for you. Don't bother. 😉

I refuse to believe its harder than Elden Ring. Yes, I struggled at first but with patience and stubbornness I was able to rise as a proper Tarnished beckoned by lost grace.

Hey guys, don't be fooled into thinking that since this is a FromSoft game that its super hard/difficult. I've faced a few bosses and yes at first they can be tough and feel impossible. But like bosses in the Souls series these bosses have indicators for attacks that can be read and predicted. Of course that means you'll need to face the boss a few times before learning its patterns but I think that's part of the fun.

Also, its a good idea to complete the training missions and fights on the Arena. Those activities unlock new parts that can prove really useful. I got a new fire control system (FCS) with high close range stats. So I thought "why not equip not one but two shotguns" and see how it goes. Yes, that set up shreds enemies but its high risk since you need to get in close.

Such a fun, fast paced action game. No microtransactions to be found anywhere either. ;)

Hearing also from other reviews that have beaten the game that From has another successful fun game again on their hands. Great to hear.
