Game pass is the future, sony will have to come up with something similar or they'll play catch up next gen... hell, they even missed ea access, which prob was their biggest mistake this gen.

I thought it was a s***ty service which makes you buy old games for streaming?Doesn't Playstation Now currently offer downloads, making it pretty similar to Game Pass?

I don't think that's the case anymore. As of September, they seem to be offering downloads on all their PS4 games. If you can stream it, you can download it.
Sony seems pretty prepared on this front for next gen.
Not all games can be downloaded. They have some sort of attached symbol indicating download option. Also, PS Now is almost double the price of Game Pass at $19.99 a month. There are some deals right now for the holidays though. I've researched both services and to be honest they seem more for the casual gamer. I buy most of the games I want when they come out so Game Pass and PS Now offer limited value for a gamer like me. If PS Now had day 1 exclusives like Game Pass I'd subscribe just for that. But to pay almost $20 a month for Killzone, Sniper Elite 4 is not going to do it for me.
Wonder how the quality of the streaming is though, haven't heard much about this tbhGood to know.
It still seems like Sony is in a prepared position to match Game Pass if they saw it as a big enough threat.
If Game Pass is a big deal in 2020, I don't expect PSNow to be far behind.

Lol Tommy boy, there's hundreds of great multiplats, not sure what you mean? If they have a better streaming service graphically (and I'd think more stable) they'll win me over even if they don't have horizon zero dawn 3.Needs good games first..
Stop lying before you get banned again. Oh and what is your gamer tag?No.
Microsoft isn't rebooting Halo because 4 and 5 were such critical and commercial successes. The Halo games were prestige games under Bungie and industry leading in many regards. 343's efforts were decidedly...not. To Microsofts credit, it looks like they're trying to do something about that with Infinity.
The last Gears of War game was also the worst recieved game in the franchise from a critical perspective. I'm sure it sold well enough, but to suggest that Halo and Gears didn't take a major ding in terms of reputation this generation is just false.
He also gets a lot of other stuff wrong. I'm not sure if it's schtick like TDbank at this point, but I notice Hedon in particular is wrong a lot of the time. I don't necessarily get that impression from most of the members here.

PS Now makes a lot more money than GamePass; it's about 53% of the market, as opposed to about 15% for GamePass.
PSNow offers the same streaming and downloads that GP does, although downloads are only available for about two-thirds of the games.
The selection of games is considerably better on Game Pass than it is on PS Now -- that's the main difference for me (apart from pricing). Sony is more restrictive in the number of games they're willing to put on there.
Game pass is the future, sony will have to come up with something similar or they'll play catch up next gen... hell, they even missed ea access, which prob was their biggest mistake this gen.
PS Now has been out for 5 years.....Sony's site says there are over 650 games on PSnow, that's more than GP isn't it? I know for download GP has more but that's only because the X1 offers a form of backwards compatibility with the PS4 does not. If you removed the 360 games from GP it would have a much smaller line up, of course taking old games off of PSnow would do the same thing for that service.
errr...they have good first party games.I think the good thing about the game pass is new first party game is free (correct me if wrong), but in order to be meaningful, MS need good first party games. Also, Gamepass need to expand to PC & mobiles. Obviously mobile will only get game suitable for mobile.

EA access really isn't that big of a miss this gen for Sony, the PS4 isn't backwards compatible so it would make the games on offer far more limited. EA access sounds like a good value on the face of it when you go by the raw number of titles but when you see how many are 360 games and how many are older X1 games it just seems like a service you get if you are the type of person who doesn't really buy games, if anything it has showed me how shallow EA's portfolio has been this generation.

Oddly enough, the biggest benefit of EA Access is the 10 hour trial and the 10% discount on all EA games. Basically if you buy a couple EA games a year it pays for much of the yearly fee. Also if you are into their sports games and don't play online as much it makes a ton of sense.
I mean in the level of Sony exclusives like Spider-Man, GOW, horizon zero dawn, uncharted etc.errr...they have good first party games.
That makes no sense either. Your whole point makes no sense.I mean in the level of Sony exclusives like Spider-Man, GOW, horizon zero dawn, uncharted etc.

Fixed.
You're cyber bullying me. I don't feel comfortable! I don't feel comfortable or safe!
The sports titles show up about 6 months after they release right? the trial is nice on the surface but when most of their games are sports titles that don't change much from one year to the next it kind of lessens the value there IMO.
More or less yes. Basically if you like their sports games it works out great.
It can be really helpful with the sports games because sometimes they make subtle changes that actually improve the game. Plus the beta/demo usually is different than the final.
It keeps them a little more honest. You have to give them credit for allowing people to test drive any game. They at least seem to be trying to make noticeable gameplay changes to their games.
EA gets a lot of flak but they have gotten better. I have a lot more issues with other companies lately.
Plus it is only $30 a year. With the 10% discount it is easy to get that kind of value.
