He is asking this after saying the last trailer was gameplay. Lool.
Pretty sure that's really on the marketing team not him, the day before he tried to tone down people's expectations so I give him credit for that.

What did he say that was fake? Considering he said he ruined the devs day, I'm guessing it wasn't fake?
Once I saw the top line saying he was admitting to the info being fake I didn't bother reading it.
Booooooo.

No ray tracing, apparently. When it comes to the 60fps issue, we don't know what other graphical upgrades the game is getting over the current gen versions. As someone on another forum pointed out this probably started production long before they had next gen console specs and their engine probably hasn't been fully modified to take advantage of what the consoles can do. Also I've been reading that it's very hard to get Odyssey to run at native 4K/60 with the highest graphical settings on high end PC's so getting this to run at 60fps would likely have taken a lot of work.
When Black Flag came out it was cross gen, the PS4 and X1 versions didn't get double the framerate but they did get a lot of enhanced graphical effects, hopefully the same thing happens here.

But no 60fps, and no RT. RT is like the big feature of next gen graphics. Think folk will expect that on all XSX enhanced games.Yeah we'll see what they do, if they give us better clouds, weather effects and better textures than Odyssey I'll be satisfied. I'm really looking forward to the game regardless of what the next gen upgrades are but I do hope they do something that really sets it apart visually.
Off topic, but I'd like a Black Flag remaster. When it comes to the 60fps issue, we don't know what other graphical upgrades the game is getting over the current gen versions. How hard is it to implement HA-RT on a game/engine not made for it? I assume somewhat hard since the coalition went software based GI. If first party has to go that root then third party are likely screwed for the most part.
That may be true. I recall reading PC reviews for Odyssey and the CPU differences weren't great.I think people may be expecting too much when it comes to RT, at least early on. I know you don't think this but a lot of people seem to think because there is RT acceleration built into the GPU that it becomes "free" to use and that's still far from the case, it's still going to be pretty demanding and end up taking resources that would have been used on other graphical features to keep from tanking performance. Once the engines these companies have time to focus on next gen only and get their engines completely modified etc I'm sure we'll see more RT because they'll made to take advantage of the extra features.
When it comes to overall performance I've seen people on other forums say that some of these engines probably aren't set up to take advantage of the fact that the CPU's in the new consoles can do 16 threads instead of 8 like current gen. I have no idea if that's true or not but just something I've seen floating around out there.
Better than Breath of the WildPlaying Origins on Xbox now because I can't stand the framerate fluctuation. I have FreeSync 45-75fps but this game sometimes drops to 40 in towns. It doesn't matter if I set the game to Ultra or low the framerate is the same, and judging by comments the game just runs poorly on AMD systems. Even setting the game to 30 feels worse than on Xbox but whatever. Game still looks amazing. Glad I took a huge break from Assassin's Creed because I'm loving it. Still only level 10 so not too far but seeing the pyramids off in the distance is breathtaking.

Play as Kassandra, she has charisma and is built as a brick house.I loved Origins and Bayek. Having a lot of trouble getting into Odessy. Just dont care for Alexios, and I'm waay over the setting. Rome/Greece is just played out . I honestly really don't like the button mashy combat from either. I do stealth whenever i can.
I LOVE this series, but they definitely went the right direction with these last games imo.I enjoyed Origins much more than Odyssey. The story resonated with me alot. Odyssey seemed to me to be a copy and paste job of Origins on a larger scale. Not saying Odyssey is a bad game at all, I just preferred Origins. Both games gave me my moneys worth.
I'm in the minority but I've enjoyed the last few action focused Assassins Creed much more the the old steathy ones.
Can't. It's a Historical fiction. It pulls me out too much. She'd be treated very differently in those times, and It just sticks out the whole time.Play as Kassandra, she has charisma and is built as a brick house.
Well... you're right... but there's A LOT more historically inaccurate things going on in the game anyway lolCan't. It's a Historical fiction. It pulls me out too much. She'd be treated very differently in those times, and It just sticks out the whole time.
Events not playing out as they did in history that I don't remember anyway are hardly the same thing. This is a fundamental, pervasive, behavioral truth with centuries of precedent along with contemporary reinforcement from personal observation. It messes with me every time i see it done in a historical context. Never bugs me with future based stuff, and contextually works with contemporary. It also depends on style and if it's trying to be somewhat grounded or not. AC games definitely try to work the angle of fitting it in a more believable setting so it just sorta falls apart. I've never been a fan of the "it's not real so you can do what you want" argument. Sure, you can do what you want, but if you want people to buy what you are selling to them narratively, there are certainly ways that work better than others.Well... you're right... but there's A LOT more historically inaccurate things going on in the game anyway lol
