Following on from the discussion on different battery packs in the Playstation 4 thread I thought I'd make a thread for this very topic. I know it doesn't apply to the Playstation but I will be picking up a Xbox One (I own a Xbox 360 and have always used a play and charge kit and or AAA batteries) and when it comes to batteries and what's good? Reliable? Not so good? I haven't got a clue.

So if anyone knows of any great deals or has any advice on batteries that last then please say so in this thread.

From Plainview:
Eneloop 2000mAh~1900mAh
Eneloop XX 2500mAh~2400mAh
La Crosse BC700 Charger. Probably the only charger you'll ever need.
La Crosse BC1000 Charger

Good thread idea.

I've read in particular that while Enerloop's are great, there's some shoddy chargers sold.. so perhaps those "in the know" can link to amazon listings with good chargers.. perhaps with the sites affiliate ID in the link.

Actually Plainview is that possible? When I link to amazon is there a way for me to add your affiliate ID?

I've always used rechargeable AA batteries on 360 and a ton of my other devices (remotes, etc).

I've heard good things about Enerloops, but never used them. I just get whatever big name brand is on sale. I find that the key is buying a good charger, something that is going to work and not wear down the battery life. I originally had some charger that claimed to charge in an hour. All it seemed to do was burn out all my batteries and kill their life. Now, I rarely even need to charge them or replace them.

I personally wouldn't waste money on any of the play and charge kits out there. Rechargeable batteries are so much cheaper and are easy. You just have to swap them out and charge them every so often.

BunzHoles I don't think there's an easy way. But I'll put some product links in the OP for people to use. I'll post what I feel are the best and most cost efficient chargers.

Is the play and charge kit worth splashing the cash for on the Xbox One? I found the Xbox 360 one to be problematic in that my controller couldn't hold a charge for very long after using it for a sustained period of time.

On a side note I see the One has a port for a PS4 like charger at the back of the controller what's it for?

PS: If anyone has any good battery deals post them on here.

I have a 4 pack with included charger for the Eneloops and they're still going strong, although at this point they're mainly just used for TV remote or 360 controller on PC, which doesn't get used much. When I used them while gaming on the 360 they were infinitely better than the 360 play and charge kit.

Used to go with the MS stuff, but they all eventually lost the ability to hold a charge. Since I've gone strictly with Eneloops. Can't recommend them enough.
