I enjoyed 2142. Titan mode was my favorite. 2142> BF 1 and BF 5.

I think 2142 would be a risky play. LIke others, I enjoyed it, but I don't think that's the lower bar you want to aim for.

I think it is a no-brainer to go with modern like BF2-4, etc and go for the mass audience. For whatever reason, people don't seem to get as burnt out on modern games, and I think BF is different enough from COD to not have to worry about that. I haven't looked, but I'm guessing there are still a bunch of people still playing BF4.

What ever era they go they need to improve weapon customization, it wss terrible in BF1 & 5. From what I recall it wss pretty decent in BF3 & 4.

Yeah I think COD is the new gold standard for that. I was trying to remember how BF4 was but it was definitely better than newer BF games.

I know I'm in the minority wishing devs would make these games more realistic and only allow customization on weapon systems that realistically are customizable. I'd have liked BF1 and 5 being 100% stock weapons. Maybe allow a scope to swap out on weapons that would actually use a scope, that's it.

I don't hate that idea, but CODs system really is nice, as it isn't just straight up leveling to get better, but actual customization. I'm sure I build out my guns differently from other players, so there's more than just a basic leveling. Picking one thing might help one area but hurt another. Like for example you can make your COD gun faster to ADS but maybe have less range or more recoil. You can really cater the gun to your preference and not just pick the "best".

The customization in MW is amazing, if battlefield can adopt a somewhat similar approach I'll be happy, heck any kind of customization similar to BF4 would be great.

What I loved about the 360 days is I had COD for my fast paced objective MP and I loved BF 3 and 4 for the bigger battles that pushed you to work together. If they make a great Modern game now there is enough room for COD and BF.

I almost want them to skip battle royale, and just focus 100% on BF and BF only.

The BF5-Firestorm failure was that both were half-a$$ed. Firestorm could have been fun, but they got stuck where both the main game and this needed tons of work and neither ended up getting enough.

The positive news I hear is that they have alpha earlier than in the past and seem to be ahead of schedule.
