Best Racing This Gen: Xbox One

Racing games tend not to be my genre but Horizon 2 is in my wheelhouse. I like the more arcade meets simulation racers more than the straight up sims. Sony needs to continue to invest in Driveclub as a franchise instead of abandoning it. Think long term with it.
The chances of Sony junking the DC franchise is zero IMO. I don't see the franchise being an annual release either like a franchise such as NFS where EA usually churns out a game every year. I see DC as a game coming out every two years. Aside from NFS most of the time, I don't think there is any racing franchise that is annual.
For DC 2, it's really simple. For the most part it seems most people are happy with the graphics and sound. So no need to put lots of effort here. Most of the criticism is lack of meaty gameplay, content and so far the online doesn't even work yet. Focus is needed here. Nobody is expecting DC to rival Forza or GT in microscopic nitpicky customization, tuning and a gazillion paint layers. But in this day and age, every racer has standard some level of half decent customization. DC doesn't have that.
I think it largely depends if Driveclub develops a degree of traction with a following. Delaying a game and then getting marginal reviews is a rocky start. If the community sticks with it and clamors for sequel there will probably be another one. Sony wants another big time franchise in this space. A space MS fills well with the Forza series. Go head to head with them.
I should have reworded my first sentence as "zero anytime soon". I have a hard time believing with all the hype, Evo Studios, etc... that DC would already be tossed. It's getting ok reviews, so it's not a disaster or anything. I'm confident there will be at minimum a DC 2 as Sony will give the franchise another shot.
Then again, if it really is this bad, perhaps Sony will tell Evo to skip DC and make another Motorstorm.
What makes you happier? Getting this thread shutdown, or you posting another one of your weekly "Game X is PS4 1080p while X1 is at 900p" threads?

Although not as popular as cars, perhaps MS will delve into Forza Motorcycles next? Granted, I don't see motorcycle racing as varied or flexible as car racing, but who knows.
Never the less, MS has a good thing going by doing the FM/FH alternate year releases.

Has MS ever made a kart racer? Maybe have a studio (not T10 or PG) make a fun XBLA style kart racer that is $15. Not sure if the Xbox crowd would go for it though. Might be too kiddie. Who knows.
Joyride for the kinect and Joyride Turbo for the controller. It's a pretty fun game overall and they have lots of vehicles to unlock. Would love to see another for both control schemes.
Ahhh... forgot about those. Never tried them. Joyride Turbo has a 67 meta score. Not great by any means. But then again, it's a budget game. Some more money put into it and X1 power and maybe they can make a more robust game. Could probably score a 75. Got to lose the name Joy Ride though. lol
This thread was a long time coming.
Before everyone was trying to compare Forza 5 and Driveclub and now we have two similar style games, both with the same target performance and such, both shipping almost at the same time but on rival consoles.

I've got to agree. This thread is definitely flame bait. I can see no reason to make a thread about this. Its gloating, lame, and perpetuates these fanboy BS wars that I've grown so tired of.
Seriously Flynn, you should feel some shame for this one. It doesn't do anything positive for this comunity, and it's the general lack of this sort of thing that makes this site different from the gaming cesspools on the web.

Please don't tell me that is what you would consider a civil start to a DC vs FH2 comparison. Pravus, I always thought you were one of the more neutral xbox fans on these forums.
