Bummer....I guess this is a wait for me (sale/gamepass). I was really hoping to dive into a brand new game. I guess it's time hit some more of my back logs.

If anyone here picks it up, let us know how you like it. I could be easily convinced. Really dying for a new title :)

Reviews are not looking good and it stings. I was really rooting for this title. It just looked so different from so many other open world games that come along. The trailers made it look like a lot of fun but so many are saying the controls are clunky and or floaty and mission objectives are boring with not much in the form of variation to keep things fun and fresh.

Yeah Skill Up gave an example of traveling a huge distance across the map just to crawl up a wall for 5 seconds, then doing it 3 more times to complete the quest. That just seems aggressive in its attempt to waste your time.

Enemies constantly peppering you with shots from off screen seems like another big problem, as is the difficulty of puzzles being at a child level.

Disappointing and confusing issues, but I was so hyped that I’m still considering a purchase since I have lots of rewards points

I just watched his review and he said he wished he stopped playing at the 10hr mark, ouch.

The combat looks like a lot of fun but unfortunately it seems they didn't nail the controls. When someone described this as "Kung-fu Panda May Cry" I thought this would be right up my alley but it seems like the devs just couldn't get it quite right with this attempt. Of course playing it yourself could offer you or me a different result. But I don't feel like taking the chance right now since there's a big PSN sale on the horizon and a couple of titles to release soon.

Just Cause devs strike again. I’ll be waiting for a sale with this one.

Guess this turned out to be another overhype game due to 2021 Game drought LaYman gaming has a video talking about the game being so so as well.

Looking to get a new game might give this a wait till it hits the bargin bin and get immortals instead, I read one of the reviewers said it took them 20ish hours to complete the game and that's right up my alley after trying to trudge through Valhalla.

Well I broke down and preordered lol. Had enough reward points for almost 2 full priced games and nothing much is coming out over the summer. Unlocks in an hour, will be interesting to see if it’s any good

I was thinking of doing the same. That's what they are there for, imo. Thanks for doing this. Let us know how it goes.

Yeah, the upside is with my luck now that I’ve purchased at full price it will be on gamepass by August lol

That's what happened to me with The Falconeer.

I actually pre-ordered the physical copy at GameStop using trade in monies, but recently moved almost 2 hours away from where I pre-ordered lol. Guess I lucked out on that one.

Well so far the game is pretty much what I expected, haven’t hit the terribleness yet. The combat is a bit messy but fun, the graphics aren’t perfect but the colors and art style are awesome, the story is ok but definitely not great. My biggest complaint is the narrator, his voice is already becoming annoying

I think the metacritic score seems to be a bit harsh. One of the reviews said it was by no means terrible, but then gave it a 45.

Game is great. Far better than some of the reviews would lead you to believe. Playing the PC version I got for $2.69 (Thanks EA).

Well I’m a few hours in now and the narrator is ruining the game for me. It’s not even so much his voice that’s the problem, it’s that he talks all the freaking time. You can adjust how many random comments he makes in the menu, but he voices every interaction with other characters so I honestly can’t tell if he’s taking any less after turning it to zero.

My other big complaint is that the game flow is annoying, as everything you do seems like it stops the game for a second or two by triggering an animation, a window to click through, a cutscene, etc. Even the little window that pops up when you loot something becomes a little grating, feels like you’re always stopping and starting.

I’m gonna keep playing, but I’m kicking myself for forgetting that you can request a refund before the 2 hour mark

Oh my gosh I just found out on Reddit how to turn off the narrator. This is literally going to be a game changer lol

Only a few hours in, but enjoying it so far. World definitely seems huge. Combat is fun, challenging, and I can challenge anyone however I want so far. Customization is amazing and game is gorgeous to look at.

If you guys have the narrator on and are still enjoying the game, you have my respect. I could not take it after awhile, nails on a chalkboard lol.

Now that I have it off though the game is so much better. The combat is really fun and I don’t rely on shooting at all despite what the reviews stated. I went with mercenary class so I’m all about close combat.

Graphics and exploration are better than I thought too. Just love those colors, but that also means it’s all less impressive at night. Really well designed world though so far

If anybody decides to get the game, aside from turning off the narrator I recommend being aware that the first few hours are rough. Lots of stopping and starting, lots of tutorials. Takes quite awhile to get to the actual game loop
