Blue Eye Samurai

Really wish this would have been a limited run series. The majority of the episodes are entertaining and well made, despite being extremely derivative of numerous obvious influences (Lady Snowblood, Lone Wolf and Cub, Tarantino, Kurosawa, etc.). The last few episodes really lost wind for me, as it became obvious they were going to stretch the show out and not resolve a single plot element. If a second season actually happens, not sure I'll watch it considering what a lame direction the show ultimately leaves itself in.

This show is a perfect example of why I still vastly prefer movies to TV. With a movie, at worst you'll only have invested a couple hours if you learn by the end that you ultimately don't like the direction it takes, whereas a show like this might take you 7 to 8 hours to finally get to that point and another 2 to 3 to finish the series. The time investment these shows demand rarely seems worth it and often leaves me feeling like I wasted a bunch of time.
