Borderlands 3

They are forcing people to use there service.
They didn't develop the games that are exclusive to the service.

Exactly. I'm not exactly a Steam evangelist (I plug GOG whenever I can because they do this s*** right), but I know I personally wouldn't buy anything on Epic at this point unless their practices change dramatically.

Epic paying off publishers is the problem here. If they truly believed their service/storefront and cut they give back to developers is better than any other launcher, then why the need to pay for exclusivity? And you're right I can still get the game on PC. In either 6 months or a year when it shows up elsewhere for cheaper, and includes all the added DLC.

I think it was you or someone else who schooled me on how inferior Epic’s digital store front is in comparison to Steam. But purchasing from Epic still allows you to play the game while giving more of your money to the publisher/developer which in turn helps to create more games. So I say please support the developer even if you don’t like the distributor.

I do find it hypocritical of Epic to say a while back their digital store was done in part to bring more competition to the PC digital store front arena. And then go out of their way to limit said competition by signing all these exclusive deals. But I also wonder how else can they get gamers to use their service as a new upstart without such deals.

I don’t game on PC I’m just an outsider looking in on this, but why was it ok for Steam to have a monopoly for so long?

Steam didn't force exclusively.
Also other services have been out alongside steam with no issues.

Epic is mad that there service nobody uses so the Chinese parent company of them is throwing money at these companies to release on there.
Like i said steam didn't do these types of practices.

I stand corrected. Yep that’s pretty s***ty on Epic then.

Just thinking of all the fun I'll have spending my $60 on coke and hookers.

If I can buy the game on the store, play the game on my computer and play it with friends, I am good to go.

I’d like to be more excited for this but as a single player gamer there were times it felt like Borderlands 2 was unplayable due to difficulty spikes.

Surprised there’s no discussion on this game. Played an hour or two and it seems like the sane thing with better movement. I’m surprised it feels so familiar, I thought the movement would make more of a difference.

I haven't gotten it yet. My friend wants to wait for it on Steam, so I have to wait.

Got it on PS4 as I am trying to sell the X and game sharing with my son.
Good game... Might double dip when steam gets it IF cross save/play is available.

I'm definitely getting this soonish once I'm done with some other games. At the beginning of Digital Foundry's tech analysis I was going to go with the PS4 version. I had just finished watching the rest of the video and yeah I'm glad I did. The PS4 version suffers from some steep framrate issues. On the flip side the "X" version has some lower amount of foliage at certain areas of the game. I would notice frame-rate issues over a few less flowers or shrubs in this hyper frenetic shooter. So "X" version for me when I do get around to this.

Right...The FPS drops in the 60fps mode is virtually identical Pro vs X with a slight X advantage the visual difference is slightly bigger.

Don't forget solid 30 FPS in resolution mode on "X" and low 20 FPS on PS4 Pro at its worse. I don't mind playing at 30 fps as long as its stable since I prefer the extra eye candy. DF also speculated that the base Xbox settings were ported over to the "X" version which could explain the slightly less foliage on "X" which is something that could be easily patched whereas FPS issues are not so easy to fix.

Yeah f00k that visual mode.
They usually tighten up frame rate in past games.

If I wasn't looking forward to Shadowkeep so much I would be tempted to bite. By the time I'm ready for it hopefully it's on Steam.

I was surprised how many people were playing this on my FL over the weekend. While I loved the series online co-op still going to wait to get it.
