So Black Widow and F9 had absolutely great first weekends but had HUGE drop-offs the following weeks.

Black Widow is sitting around $315 million globally and looks like it won't even cross $400 which includes the amount made via Disney+ premium buys. F9 is sitting at $600 million. Neither are going to cross $1 billion and that doesn't bode well for the rest of the year's big releases. You gotta believe Sony and Marvel are definitely concerned (Shang-chi, Eternals and Spidey) especially considering there's a much more aggressive covid strain making the rounds.

I think Shang-Chi and especially Eternals will have to work hard just to be in the green considering they're not the best known properties. Spidey clearly has the biggest production and marketing budget to overcome out of the rest but is the most popular Marvel character BUT is dropping mid-december where the virus is more suited for cold weather 🙃

Forgot to add: F9 and Widow aren't going to cross $200 mil domestically and F9 got a huge boost from China. Which is no surprise to me considering Cena's apology in order to appease Beijing.

M. Night's Old and Snake Eyes came in 1st and 2nd this weekend respectively. Both underperformed especially Snake Eyes 🙁

I’m gonna go out on my conspiracy hat and say a lot of the anti vaxers/maskers will not watch Shang-Chi

The Eternals is something of a deep cut that’s a bit past the likes of The Guardians of the Galaxy.

Id prefer to watch both in theaters but those around me would rather watch them at home, like black widow. The one I’m really hoping on seeing in theaters is Spider-Man, Venom I’ll watch at home lol

People just aren't ready it seems.

Could be a while till a film does over a billion again.

The suicide Squad doesn't have the best name for getting a load of strangers in a room together during a pandemic.....

SS will also on HBO Max the same day it releases. So it's definitely not hitting a billion.
