Anyhow, the gist of it is this for those that don't click through. BP contacted a PR firm during the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. That PR firm took to trolling and cyber stalking on internet message boards. They ended up taking over several forums, and drove all the BP critics away.

I thought it was interesting because people seem to think that this type of manipulation doesn't happen.
 
I find it interesting that there are firms that specialize in this sort of thing.
I wonder what they look for on an applicants resume?

Not sure, but I'd love that job. Could you imagine getting paid to troll? So many people do it for free.
 
It's certainly a line of business, usually masked as online reputation maintenance. Check out reputation.com or do a search on paid forum posting
 
The question I want to know is what can you do when someone is stalking/harrassing you like that (calling your employers, making death threats, harassing family) from over the internet?
