Activision was notoriously absent from E3 this year, and perhaps for good reason. Participating in the video game industry's largest annual expo takes a tremendous amount of planning and a sky-high budget to match it. So when the publisher of the most popular first person shooter announced that it was going to host its second Call of Duty XP event in five years, bowing out of E3 this year made complete sense.
Held at the Forum in Inglewood, CA, COD XP was a video game event like no other. For Call of Duty fans, the sold-out, three-day festival was a bonanza, celebrating their beloved game franchise with tons of gaming and a slew of activities to participate in.
Attendees were able to play the upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Infinite Warfare Zombies, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Multiplayer, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC 4. Between their gaming sessions, they had the chance to step off of a giant tower to zip line across the venue, play paintball in a real-life recreation of Nuketown, wrestle in sumo/juggernaut suits, play laser tag, and watch world class players compete in the Call of Duty World League Championship.
On the final day of COD XP, attendees saw Team EnVyUs take home the win and claim the title of World League Championship winners. To close off the event, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa took the stage for a live concert.
