This is great news for an indie publisher that I really like. I enjoyed Contrast and it's a great starting point for a very small but talented team. They deserve it. Hopefully we get to see some more wickedly inventive titles, like Contrast, from Compulsion Games soon!

“We feel rewarded and ecstatic that so many PlayStation fans have embraced our world throughout the Holiday season,” stated Guillaume Provost, Founder and Creative Director, Compulsion Games. “It has given us the wonderful opportunity to engage with the community; evolving and improving the game as a result of their feedback. We’re overwhelmed with the fan support and look forward to sharing Contrast with a whole new audience.”

CONTRAST draws players into a surreal 1920s dreamscape; a vaudevillian, film noir-inspired world where the boundaries between showmanship, magic, intrigue and deception are blurred. Players take on the role of Dawn, the imaginary friend of a little girl, Didi. Every imaginary friend is special, and Dawn is no exception. She has the unique ability to shift from the striking 3D fantasy stage into the mysterious 2D shadowscape. Like every family, Didi’s isn’t perfect; in fact they are as unique as they come with an aspiring cabaret singer mother and an absentee father. Didi’s only wish is to reunite her family. As Dawn, use shadow shifting abilities to solve intricate puzzles and uncover the secrets that plagues the family’s past.

CONTRAST is available in North America for the PC on the Steam® Store and for the PS3 system and PS4 system through PlayStation® Store and Xbox360 via Xbox® Games Store. The standard digital edition is available at an MSRP of $14.99 (USD). The Collector’s Edition is available at an MSRP of $19.99 (USD). The PS3 system and PS4 system version be available for $7.49 through January 31, 2014. This title has been rated T (Teen) by the ESRB.

That is fast for a relatively unknown game. As soon as I saw that number, I thought of Minecraft numbers when it first came out on console. Not to mention, a million sold on 4 million consoles!

Well is it sold or is most of the numbers from being a free download on PSN+ on PS4.

Doh, I didn't realize it was free. I keep seeing $7.49 in that article. I also didn't know it was on the PS3.

I downloaded it....and then deleted it two days later. It just wasn't a game I could get into.

That is the impressive stat.

I mean a Million sold is great, but many games do it. Million sold with such small user base, more impressive.

Nice but as mentioned it was free.

Its also half price on XBLA at the moment.

Is this game on 360 or xbox one?

Ok, I just see it also available on xbox 360. But why not xbox one...hmmm
