The point is whatever issues Xbox has is nothing new. This channel is either pure clickbait or just an angry fanboy lashing out because of his team "losing".
It doesn't matter if there are facts in the video because that isn't why the video is being made.
I don't know anybody IRL that has "left" Xbox in the past decade.
I have all the same friends on Xbox. None of them left. All my XBOX mates are still on the Xbox and most now on OneX.
Probably his only source of income extreme click bait. . Even before he started going negative on Xbox he would recycle the title for his videos over and over again stuff like "Megaton", or "Microsoft has finally done it"or "Microsoft issues warning to all Xbox users" etc.
Hedon Laugh all you want. Doesn't change anything. The brand perception is so bad now that even their core fanbase is starting to drop them.
It's an Xbox dominated site and in the xbox section, the push back was expected and no actual line of defence inevitable. That started towards the latter half of last gen but it has continued, anyone who thinks the drop in market share and lack of any new hit IP's isn't a problem has their head buried in the sand. That doesn't mean they can't recover but this gen will end with them way down compared to where they were at the same point last gen and if their goal is simply to make a few AA single player games and focus on MP or GaaS titles they aren't going to do any better next gen. They keep touting gamepass sub numbers but they run $1.00 trials constantly, it'd be more telling if we were able to see how many people they have who have stayed subscribed at full price for more than two months. We'll see, I hope they turn it around because I want two healthy companies pushing each other.
Well, at least he eventually figured things out.
I'm sure it's tricky, to spend so much time and energy fighting in the console war trenches, to have a channel fiercely devoted to promoting Xbox, and then to change your opinion that drastically. That's another reason why I don't think it's all about the clicks/money. It can produce more clicks temporarily, but it also runs the risk of alienating your core audience. In addition, and probably more importantly, it requires that you question your beliefs, revise your beliefs, then express those beliefs to a largely hostile audience who will feel betrayed, will criticize and react defensively, etc. There's a lot of internal resistance to overcome, and there's risk involved. So I don't think it's just a matter of "I need more clicks. I'll start attacking Xbox so I can get more traffic." I'm sure that's part of the motivation for what he's doing, but it came later, as a way to monetize his change of mind, but it wasn't the driving force.

If someone like that that discovers that the console they have been dumping on is actually really good would likely learn a lesson from that and stop the fanboy/console war thinking. Bottom line is I wouldn't think there is really anything authentic about his opinions either way.
Yep. Even last gen was decent despite alot of exclusives not being in house games. Well, until the last 2 years anyway, where it went downhill. It always seemed weird to me to see a games publisher that seems so reluctant to actually make games.
Microsoft was way more productive as an upstart company in the industry. With the OG Xbox, they had games coming out consistently. Not all of them good or great, but they were delivering games.
Pretty confident, as the only studios rumored to stay on Ip specific are the 3 mentioned. And even theyve hinted at being open to working on something else. We'll have to see...Yep. They really need the new Playground Games game & The Initiative game to be amazing. Those are their big new AAA studios and they need to hit the ground running. But if they do, is anybody here confident that they wont become stagnant 1 trick pony studios like T10, The Coalition and 343?
ofcourse they are open...all devs will be open to trying new things. Bungie had to leave to try new things.Pretty confident, as the only studios rumored to stay on Ip specific are the 3 mentioned. And even theyve hinted at being open to working on something else. We'll have to see...

Hell. All signs point to Playground doing Fable. So, technically speaking, one of their 2 big AAA studios isn't even making a new IP.
It doesn't matter if it is my cup of tea or not, though. Atleast the potential of a new favourite game is there. I didn't care much for the Playstation lineup last gen, but then we got Motorstorm and I loved it. We got Demon Souls and I loved it. We got Last of Us that I really enjoyed.I'd take a Fable with Playground. They can take Fable in an interesting direction. I know Fable and love it. That new IP you're craving might end up not even being your cup of tea.
Instead of simply new IP I wish people would just say what they would like to see. New IP by a AAA studio is not a guarantee that it will be your dream game or even what you'd like to play.
Thought you were talking about me for a second...Crapgamer is an untalented hack with emotional stability and reasoning of a early teen.
Sounds like the majority here, saying dumb s*** like exclusives don't matter, but then act like MS buying a handful of AA studios is the second coming of christ. The Crapgamer issue is a worthy topic but not for the reasons a lot of people here think it is. Crapgamer is an untalented hack with emotional stability and reasoning of a early teen. Problem is Xbox Executives propped up Crapgamer and other toxic fanboys like him for years when they were capitalizing on tribalism and identity politics within the gaming community to help their business. Suddenly Microsoft’s business strategy no longer benefits from tribalism as they need to play nice with every platform and the Xbox executives abandoned their toxic fanboys since they don’t need them. Ybarra, who’s heading Game Pass and doing a hell of a job there, used to show up and support Crapgamer and influencers like him. He’s now disappeared from that scene. Crap showed up with his Xbox armor and Xbox weapons ready to fight the console war and Spencer and Ybarra pulled a gaming Bay of Pigs on him.
I talked to an influencer who’s done shows with Crap in the past that says this backlash is about Craps money, not some value or heart felt stance. Back in 2017 when Microsoft launched Xbox X with no 1st party games and their 1st party was in shambles, people like Crap (and there’s a bunch more) we’re making excuses that the exclusives didn’t matter or were good enough. They held those stances when Microsoft had 6 studios, released a buggy State of Decay and content lite Sea of Thieves. Suddenly Microsoft has added 9 studios and grown the ones they already own and it’s time to bail?
The truth is the business of Xbox shows is not good now that Spencer has Xbox more like a hybrid publisher who happens to offer a console. There’s no tribe to drive to these shows. The influencers either need a need a new schtick or to close up shop. So most of them are either becoming multiplatform, changing to PlayStation or closing shop. In my opinion, that’s ok. We need less toxicity in the general gaming community. If you’re a gaming influencer, why aren’t you familiar with all platforms?
In conclusion, the community sentiment was driven by the change of Xbox strategy and reducing the importance of plastic, not the quality of the ecosystem or potential to deliver games next gen. Plastic wars is a dying business. Xbox as a publisher and platform is actually healthier than ever.
