The graph should have the Wii, but I agree.
Nintendo is stuck in its deep rooted history and culture. Their consoles are still being made focused on the Japanese/Asian market and that's simply dumb.
That culture worked perfectly well when the Asian market was the big gaming market, but that has changed a lot in the last 15+ years.
The Wii was a fluke if you include the sales in that graph.
They really need a purge in their management and start bringing some serious western influence w/o having their hands tied behind their back to focus first on the Asian market.
Their next console doesn't have to be as powerful as the next xbox or playstation, but they need something that is in the ball park to get the attention from devs. Then ensure that the thing is simple to develop for so it get's 3rd party ports easily.
They have an awesome list of IPs, but they also need fresh IPs focused on the western market and that third party support.
