When the OG game came out, I was living same room as my cousin. I saw him played from start to end, so I lost motivation to play.

maybe will consider it again with the remake.

Looks great. I fired up the original a few months back and, as good as you may remember it looking, it doesn't hold up particularly well. There are a ton of flat textures and other things that really jump out now.

A remake of a 14 year old game released two console generations prior seems a little more digestible than a game released 5 years ago that already has a PS5 patch.....but yeah, $70 is insanely disappointing.

Had no idea it was $70.00. Should be $19.99 like every remake should be.

$19.99 is a bit too little, maybe $39.99?

Regardless, this will sell at the $70 price and people will continue to buy the titles they feel are worth it.

As they would for any product in their life and if the price is right.

And this is different than The Last of Us Part 1 besides being part of Sony PS Studios because?

Regardless of the publisher or company, remakes if enough effort is being put into the development, is worth it to those who deem it.

Fake outrage indeed.

One was released in 2008 the other in 2013. One has had 3 versions made already... you can guess which one.

Wow, knee jerk reaction much? I never mentioned TLOU.

And both still are going to sell at $70.

Some people were outraged at all the remakes/remasters of Sony here , TLoU was the most recent one so I used that example.

Point is, there's a market for them even if it's not for you. Look at GTA V which transcended PS3/360, PS4/X1 and now PS5/XS lol. It's still selling like hotcakes.

GTA 5 is constantly on sale. Hell, I paid something like $20 for it with the online component. I think that's the issue with Sony remakes, its their pricing model. Sony's upgrade pricing for older gen games has also pissed gamers off.

And I bought The Last of Us Part 1 Remake for $70.

As expected for something out so long.

That's what I paid too on PC but I remember buying it at launch for full price on the PS3.

Demon's Souls remake was on sale before too after launch.

I'm pretty sure TLoU remake will be as well this Holiday.

I should have added that GTA 5 is not a remake but instead a framerate/resolution increase. I understand that TLoU is a full remake I just thought it was priced a bit too high.

I blame Sony North America, they seem to have been put in charge of major decisions and policies. No one maximizes profits better than the good ole USA.

Why would a full remake be any less money?

It’s on a new engine with next gen tech. The fact that it is the “same” game is irrelevant because honestly it’s not. Just likee RE2. Just like Demons Souls. TLOU remake is a poor comparison. That was not a true remake and should NOT be $70.

No surprise at all it’s $70. The price increase was going to come to Xbox at some point, looks like it is here. With Game Pass it’s about $60 anyways after discount.
