Sony “Shares” Deep Down Screenshots Directly from a PS4: Leaves One, Deletes all the Others
by Giuseppe Nelva (7 hours ago) 10 @abriael

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia held a series of events in Japan named “Try! PlayStation 4.“During the demo gatherings Japanese gamers got to try out multiple PS4 games, including a demo of the upcoming RPG from Capcom Deep Down, as you can see from the picture below.

The picture was tweeted directly by the @TryPS4 account together with a myriad of screenshots “shared” from the consoles, mostly from Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knackand Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends.

What about Deep Down? apparently a few pictures of Capcom’s online RPG were indeed shared and tweeted, but whoever was at the helm of the Twitter account deleted them all but one, that you can see below.

Everything else has been unceremoniously canceled, including the one below, that wasn’t deleted fast enough and our reader Zeromus managed to grab a quick screencap of it from his twitter feed.

According to what Zeromus reported via e-mail, at least three more screenshots were shared and then deleted. Unfortunately the screencap above is small, but we can still distinguish one of the lovely and realistic armors included in the game, and the silhouette of a monster on the background. You can see a manually enlarged version by clicking on the picture, even if a lot of the detail went lost.

Why were they all deleted? Probably Capcom ruled that the game’s screenshots still weren’t ready for public consumption, especially considering that PlayStation 4′s share function downsizes screenies and compresses them a lot, resulting in a steep loss of definition and color quality.

Why was only one screenshot left there? The most probable case is that it was simply overlooked, since the twitter account shared several hundreds of pics and one may have slipped through the watchful eye of Sony’s employees.

Unfortunately we have no way to know, but thanks to our brave reader, at least we got to see all the tracks that were left.

Intelli....you ever post positive PS4 news?
Seriously?

On a side note...I'm sure the game is coming along fine. Alot of games look bad in compressed pictures...which is probably why they were taken down.

This is probably the only DD news in the past month. Worth posting.

That's probably just it. Even if the game isn't up to the snuff of nexgen standards, odds are it'll be a pretty good looking game all around and will play great. Just that folks love nitpicking and turning a small hill into a big mountain. Happens all the time.

Still need to hear more about this game but if I recall correctly, it's supposed to be free? If so, definitely worth a download either way.

F2P. No details on cost structure or features, but it's suppose to be completely free to download and play. Online only too.

So this was originally thought to be a sequel to Dragon's Dogma, but instead is a F2P dungeon crawler. I would be interested in a Dragon's Dogma sequel, but not in a big dungeon crawl. I don't like dungeons much.

lol of course not

this game is not going to look near as good as the first video that was shown at the PS4 revile event. They were very clear that video was of the engine only and not game play.

Didn't they show gameplay a while back. It looked pretty good to me.

Plus it's gonna be 60 fps. That's good enough for me for a f2p

Yeah he just hating

Well to be fair Capcom already set themselves up for disappoint in the looks department. They said at the PS4 reveal when they showed the game this was an in-engine demo only. Hell they even said it more then once but it won't stop the haters from saying oh my god the game looks like s*** now they so lied it has such a downgrade in graphics now.

Where are those that claimed that DD was better looking than anything pc had? Hell, they even went as far as to say that the initial trailer was gameplay based on what analysts were saying (and they weren't even "analyst").

Seriously, not trolling or anything....it's just funny how some people swore that next gen consoles were going to be CGI quality.

I don't know, where are they? Unless it was guys like TDbank who tend to exaggerate everything, then they were probably few and far in-between. At least from what I saw on TXB and UGF.

It being F2P does nothing to calm fears of inferior quality. Worth a download sure. Worth the time and money to make it ? only time will tell.

Who knows Capcom is insane with nickel and diming in their full priced games so god help us how bad it will be in a free to play game from them. s*** you'll have to pay 5 cents for every step you take in the game. Want to jump that is 10 cents.

Hahaha. I haven;t really played many Capcom games this gen. Only series that got any real playtime was Dead rising

Might be fun if it's F2P and not P2Win...there has to be a catch somewhere...

Hold on. I've just now discovered that the Dragon's Dogma successor is F2P / Pay2Win? Oh man, I am very disappointed in this generation so far :( First mobile gaming and now full blown console titles are being monetized.

Nope. If it relies on microtransactions, this game will be DOA.

Will it ? A lot of F2P titles seem to do very well. Lest also not forget how much gamers love to be ripped off with DLC and monthly subscriptions.

Mostly phone games and some pc games. But I don't know of console games that rely on pay to win model that is incredibly successful. Could be wrong though, not saying they don't exist...just don't know about them, and certainly not this type of RPG game.

Visually, the game looks fine and I'd give it the thumbs up if it releases in that state. Although the art direction seems a bit boring to be honest. Hopefully they have more visually appealing areas to walk around in.

I wasn't talking about console games. Just F2P in general

I see. As it may be though, I still don't see this kind of game being successful if it requires people to pay for things. Maybe I'm wrong, I just don't see it being successful on console.

I have a bad feeling this is just going to be another Warframe. Free, repetitive, etc. I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. Concept is awesome.

I seem to recall similar comments being made about DLC. Even on PC paid DLC has been accepted ( something people said would never happen). Only time will tell, but I fear for the future of gaming. Monatized, low quality, shallow games that make you yurn for the good old days of AAA games.
