I finally beat a tower event last night. Actually like 4-5 times in a row on the moon we just kept going and going. Don't remember for sure how many people there were but at least 5. I'm guessing because it was the moon that everyone was close to 1000 light or above, whereas all the issues I've had at the Io or EDZ could have been a huge range of people. I did have one event on Io finish one ball short of beating it. Anyways I ended up getting 3 exotics yesterday lol.

Not sure what to think of the hard mode. Seemed like it was already hard mode especially since I'm only light level 980 or so. But yea sometimes I'll load into an area and see 2-3 people doing the tower and think why waste your time. Only reason I join is to work on bounties for free kills.

Kerosene31 are you on Steam with this game at all? Or Xbox I guess but my aim is garbage on there compared to mouse.

I'm Kerosene31 on Steam. That's where I play 99% of the time now. I don't have the game on Xbox, but on PS4. I know it is free to play but I don't know how that works with all the DLC.

The event is really tough if you don't have 7+. The problem is you need to keep enemies off any tower (before it was just one at a time) plus throw the balls. You need a bare minimum of 1 person per tower and realistically 2.

I have no idea why they don't put these things into a matchmaking area instead of a public area.

I sent an invite if you ever want to give it a go. I did have to buy Shadowkeep again on PC but the season pass carried over from Xbox. I do see a season pass for Season of the [ REDACTED] so at least I'm covered for that. Hopefully I continue to play it in 30 days... I have an issue with Destiny playing the hell out of it for a month or two and then not touching it for half a year lol.

Cool I'm always down for some playing.

Looks like Bungie is addressing how difficult the quest step is going to be

 
After playing a lot of Warzone on pc lately, I fired this up again. And man this game just feels so good. COD feels great too but Bungie just nailed the shooting and movement on PC.

I really really hope they can turn this game around because its a lot of fun to play.

I think we're in the usual dip in content before the big fall expansion. With a solid expansion at least on par with Shadowkeep (and hopefully Forsaken) the game should be a lot of fun this fall.
 
Well supposedly the reason the game quality has dropped is because the main team hasn't been involved with it and have been working on Destiny 3(which is rumored to now become DLC)

Finished the season pass. Hit level 100, upgraded all the bunkers, and got the seal done. I do have that Lie quest for 1k shotgun kills left. Only at 35% I think so not sure if I would get it done in time. Definitely won't be playing as much but maybe get on and get 50 kills a night or whatever it would take to finish it by end of the season.

For the shotgun kills, try using the tractor cannon as heavy (it counts as a shotgun) and a 2nd shotgun, then a primary to get ammo.

You can go somewhere with a ton of hive and go nuts and get it done fairly quickly. The trick is to have any shotgun/special ammo finders active.

There's the Core Terminus on Mars that spawns tons of hive and you get your own instance, so all the kills are yours. If you have Tractor Cannon, let a bunch of thrall swarm you and then let loose.

Sometimes with stuff like this too, I find something else I need to finish. That way you are working towards something else instead of watching the slow progress. I was finishing up some Shadowkeep quests I never finished.

The shotgun seems fairly good, especially in PVP (not that I play that). It is definitely doable in a weekend, but it does get dull.

I forgot about the tractor cannon but it's really fun. Ended up finishing The Lie using that and another shotgun and didn't really take too long. Not sure on specific names on Mars but the area where Ana is has plenty of hive so you can make a circuit out of it and get like 15 kills in a minute, and they respawn pretty quickly.
 
the nightmare event thing on the moon can help get it done in no time. people are always there and hive spew out of those portals 24/7
 
Hey Bungie, we're all living in real life 2020. Riots, pandemics and who knows what else. Some scary sounds and a dark ship isn't exactly scary :)

In all seriousness I'm interested to see where this goes. Kind of funny that we've been playing since 2014 and this is the first real encounter with the darkness.

 
So, something is going to happen Saturday (whatever time reset is for you, I think 1pm eastern US time).

I doubt it will be anything major, but who knows. Probably just a cutscene or something.

So if you are in the tower and Zavala is not looking at the Almighty, jump back to orbit and go in. The NPCs should be pointing up at the Almighty (90 degrees to the right of Zavala)

Still nothing happening though.
 
My confidence in Bungie being able to pull this off was low. I'm not surprised at all.

The music changed for a bit but still nothing. Just playing cowbell in the tower with some other guardians. I'm just leaving my PS4 on and see what happens.
 
On one hand I applaud them for trying something different, but in the end it was like an Andy Kaufman bit. Most people assumed it would take 10-15 minutes lol. Then in the middle I was sure it was done, but something told me to leave my PS4 on. I was sure it was done, and this half destroyed thing would be the normal. Then I glance over and it is exploding. I know a ton of people left.

Only reason I stuck with it was that I had it on my TV while I played PC games.

They definitely have to fix those beaver errors. I haven't crashed out of a game so frequently in ages. Of course the PS4 version seems fine. I was in the tower from 11am through 2:30 and no problem.

I'm really having doubts about continuing on this fall. This game sucks so much time and seems to be less and less fun and more of a chore. Of course I think they are setting up something cool with the darkness for the big DLC.
