This week at Bungie, we entered the home stretch.
Have we said that before? Feels like it. The development of Destiny has been a race with many milestones. All along the way, there was always a feeling that this team was sprinting from one finish line to the next. Another new build. A live fire exercise with friends and family. A mass public showcase.
Now, we’re very close to launch – the final weeks. This next milestone carries a heavier weight of finality. Destiny is Gold. Discs are being pressed and packed into crates. Destiny is done, in some respects. Even now, so close to the end, it still feels like we’re just getting started.

The game has grown on me since the beta. I hope there was a preorder/preloading on Xbox store, but regardless of that I'm buying it.

Looking forward to it! Definitely keeping my preorder.

Been looking forward to it ever since the beta, it will be nice to be able to use equipment higher than lvl 8.

This marks the beginning of the end of the Drought(tm)

The last quarter of this year will be EPIC!!

We'll, we saw all of earth and the moon in the beta, so 5 hours there.

Really? I know I spent far more than 5 hours on earth in the beta, and I am sure that wasn't all the story missions. I suppose if you do nothing but but the "story" mission, it may not be 50 hours long- although I bet it's in the 20s. It's still a hybrid shooter, so that's a lot of game if you don't look at it as an MMO( which typically cost monthly subscriptions).

People should keep this in perspective. I don't think the length is the issue. I'm more concerned with the crappy spawning, but I still had plenty fun with the Beta.

News to Destiny and the rest of the gamer community. Glad you got that cleared up for us. Carry on.

I remember reading something about there being 32 story missions and I think over 20 strike missions with a lot of maps for competitive multiplayer. I think the game will have plenty of content with healthy post launch support.

It's small. MW already finished it.

Some snippets from the devs. seems like although travel is limited, the length and scope of the game is large

"You go to Mars, you go to the Moon, you've got Venus, and you've got Earth," he said. Dague added that the game won't let players journey outside the solar system at launch. Each of the planets in the game will only have one open-world area. For example, Earth only has the Old Russia region featured in the beta.

Bungie sensed players' concern about the Destiny's length. Community manager Eric "Urk" Osborne responded to concerns by saying that the game is the biggest they've ever made and will give players months of entertainment

Kinda bored from playing the Alpha and Beta on PS4/XBO.
Hopefully I see a reliable review before I consider picking up my pre-orders.

I wish pre-download was available for Destiny on X1 :(
