I know a cheap way of beating it. Just stand outside of the doorway when the door opens and shoot at the guy. He will eventually come towards you and you just stay outside of doorway and keep shooting him. :)

That sounds like the Moon Strike mission to me, Summoning Pits (?). If so then firing from just outside the door will not work. I tried and some enemy would teleported right behind me and proceeded to send me to my grave. The best way that I found was to keep moving and kill the surrounding enemies first and then work on the boss when the opportunity presents itself. It will probably take a while but being patient may result in success over repeated failure.

That's EXACTLY how we beat summoning pits on like a level 26 strike. ;)

Just kill that guy everytime he spawns. I think he's called a shrieker.

Now I remember, Bogie was talking about a Venus boss. I don't know why I couldn't remember but his description of the throne should have jarred my memory. I think your suggestion just might work.

Yes, that stupid floating thingy killed me every time in the Summoning Pits. But I've been playing with random players who don't seem willing to communicate. I usually insert my mic when I'm about to do a Strike but I've been alone in that. But I'm too low in level to hook up with you guys so I have no choice. Jaydee was awesome enough to come and help me recently which was really cool of him. He actually got me through the Pits my first time.

Weekends are rough due to having younger child. I usually am the facilitator of fun on the weekends for him. I'll add you to my friends list just the same though. Request will be from SmoothGrifter. Good luck :).

Me and my bro did that entirely behind that door (our 3rd was AFK and then bailed). Another guy joined but only in the last 10 min and was terrible....was more hive bait than anything :). I would get a few good special/heavies on the boss and then when hit by the Shrieker, bailed behind the other door to kill him before rinse and repeat. Killing the Shrieker also killed any baddies in the room. The few times I ventured out into the chamber. I got my a$$ handed to me. Probably much better if you have 3 and all are at different points in the main chamber though.
