Destiny Xbox One Is Not "Dumbed Down"

To Intellivsion, if you care about it, Sleeping dog will be 1080p on X1 as well. So yeah, maybe 1080p talk may be distant memory in the near future.

Well, it should. The game uses no resources, has no textures, can barely hold a frame, and is akin to pitfall, graphically. It could probably do 4k at 12ofps on the Colecovision.

Wait, hold the phone! Bungie actually verbally mentioned the Xbox version exists?

LOL. Leave it to the gaming industry to invent new things. Exclusive game deals aren't a new thing as going back to Atari 2600 some games get released for this or that system, but "exclusive mentioning" is the new money maker.

The money must be big, since the developer is making their game on various platforms. "Unmarketing" products is shooting themselves in the foot..... unless the exclusive mention moolah is that big to counter it.

Starseeker, you're a good poster. But I think you may be reading a little too much into this one.

They'll look the same. But there may be performance differences.

This is the best description I've ever read. Lol, "un-marketing"

The final digital foundry verdict will be interesting. I imagine the X1 will trail in just a few areas, albeit very trivial.

I know it will matter to some people, buy it won't matter to me. I've seen it on both systems. Even during the beta the differences were so insanely minor that even if they didn't change a thing I would be perfectly fine with it. I've said it before, the differences between the systems is so minor that having the Xbox controller trumps any ever so slight difference in visuals.

I played both betas and I didn't notice a difference. Not surprised, I thought it was already known that visually/performance wise the PS4 and One versions are essentially equal. This isn't a factor for me.

However, the extra strike missions and MP maps are pulling me towards the PS4 version. Although I like the One controller slightly better, the controller isn't a differentiator for me anymore like it was last gen. I think this will be the first multiplatform game I ever buy for a PS platform. It's not due to performance though.

the D.F. breakdown will probably annoy the living hell out of me because they'll sloooooooooow the footage down to a crawl and make comparisons, as if we play the game at that speed. Hell, I dont know why Bungie dont just take snap shots of the game and place those in the cases themselves. In 1080p of course. :)

Then whenever a snapshot of an enemy comes up, we can just flick pictures at it until it falls off the coffee table or some chit! Like, "Take dat bish! And dat, and dat, AND DAT!, and a couple more of deez, and dat!:-->:

However, the extra strike missions and MP maps

Is that the DLC? Strike Missions and multiplayer maps? I know that the X1 has to wait a year for the strike missions (I think that is what I hear)? Will it be a year before it gets multiplayer maps too?

I believe it's a year for both. And I believe there's an exclusive strike mission and MP map in the base game and in the DLC pack. It's confusing and BS, but it's swaying me from the One platform.

Dang, I would say.

Not only is the Xbox One version of Destiny not dumbed down but it's the version to play. The X1 is just the better console for multiplayer gaming.

Destiny controlled well with the X1 controller for sure and online was flawless. At least for me. The game just wasn't that hot for me to keep playing however. I stopped well before the beta was up. I'll wait until it goes down in price before I pick it up.
