Yeah I thought the story was really good. Definitely worth playing through even if you don't go deeper into the game.
Tried Ray tracing on my computer. Didn't really notice a difference in action. Turned it back off.
Unless the game has a lot of things that reflect light,or every dark areas, the difference is subtle.Yeah honestly I don't get the ray tracing hype for many games, especially something like Diablo where you're not going to be looking at the shadows while you are hacking and slashing through piles of demons.
I saw the before and after shots and I just don't really get it. Seems like a whole lot of performance hit (down to 30fps on consoles) for something that seems not worth it.
I tried it this morning didn’t notice anything. Going back to performance.Tried Ray tracing on my computer. Didn't really notice a difference in action. Turned it back off.
I haven't cared about achievements or trophies on any platform in... ever.
Anyway, where is D4 on Xbox Game Pass? No pre-load or anything.
I got the PC one to start downloading. I had to click "install battle net" even though I already had it, and it started working. Still nothing on Xbox at all.
The servers must be getting hammered. I'm getting comically slow speeds.
Sadly, this game is always online, so expect some issues, at the very least some lag.
I’d join.Anyone interested in getting a UVGF clan going? I could set one up if there isn't one already. Clans really do little in the game anyway (the social features are pretty lacking). I think you need to be in the same world tier to play together.

Sure. What benefits are there ? Shared loot or badges kind of thing ?
I made it to level 97 this weekend. Didn't get as much time to play as I would have liked.
Anyway I created a clan for UnionVGF if anyone wants in. It is just the one member now, but expecting that number to shoot right up.
I have been playing the ptr (public test realm) for the past 2 days, and I can tell you. You guys are in for a ride in season 4 if this goes live intact.
They went bananas with new itemization rework, with some crazy affixes, allowing you to do crazy stuff like super big screen wide area of effect, double cast, extra projectiles. You can stack movement speed, attack speed, resource everywhere.
They added new high level content called pitt( think of it as greater rift in d3) , rework helltide (open world region) that the mobs keep coming….more events, more mobs, more fun.
All aspects now goes to your codex after salvage and they can be use infinitely- no need to save the best aspect for the perfect gears.
You can trade legendary and uniques now. And they add a lot of super cool uniques.
As an arpg veteran, it’s pretty good. Easily the best on market.
I would. S4 looks to be the beginning of the game turning into a powerhouse, just as Reaper of Souls was for D3. Cant wait. You think we should wait for that official May update before we jump in then ? Have the game preloaded already

You can still go through the campaign and get well into the game now. Really, the changes will ultimately impact the very endgame, so you can play for a lot before that comes into play. There's renown to unlock too (doing side missions, finding lilith statues, etc).
From levels 1-50, you really don't need to worry about gear attributes or anything. You can even take a character into world tier 3 and 4 if you want, just don't bother farming a real endgame build, but you would have hours and hours of play before you get there. Basically, it is a long time playing before you really need to worry about all the gear stuff that's changing.
Early on, just look for gear with the biggest dps or armor number and ignore the rest. You fly through gear so quickly anyway.
At the very least, I'd recommend getting the campaign done on a character so you can then skip it next time. Plus, the campaign is pretty good and not a huge time commitment.
Really, the debate comes down to if you want to play seasonal or eternal realm characters. Chances are we'll start a new seasonal character for season 4. I always jump back on the eternal realm to level up old characters (when the season ends, your seasonal character ends up in the eternal realm).
Thanks ! So it sounds like still worth to play through campaign first coop and any side quests along the way then equip highest DPS and armour number gear as you find them . Don't have to worry about builds until end game ?
If you are new, play the current season. When you are done, you will be ready for the new season .You think we should wait for that official May update before we jump in then ? Have the game preloaded already
Some of the tempering affix are over the top. I made my corpse tendril from a little centipede to a giant octopus with tentacles size of tree trucks, for a screen wide mobs pull !I would. So, as you get to level 50, you can start to move from world tier 1 to 2. Then you run what's called the capstone dungeon which unlocks WT3. 3 is basically "endgame training". WT4 is the last one and the real endgame. You stay in 3 from 50 to around level 70, then you run another capstone.
WT3 is more or less where you start to use builds more, but come WT4 you should have the concepts down.
From 1-50, we use what's called "leveling" builds. They are builds specifically for low level players and aren't very complicated.
There's no hard and fast rule. Some people struggle getting past the capstone. My first couple times I got wrecked, but I slowly learned and got through it.
Maxroll is a great place to start learning builds, as they include not only all you need to do, but also detailed descriptions which will help you learn everything.
Going through these guides should help you learn everything, it is a gradual process and happens over time. You don't need to know everything at once, and you can respec any time. Early on especially it is cheap and easy.
Long story short, if you get to a point where you are slowing way down and struggling, it is time to add more to the build to get more power.

If you are new, play the current season. When you are done, you will be ready for the new season .
There is an option to skip campaign, do not do so!!!! The campaign is pretty amazing. Hot demon mama Lilith waiting for you in campaign.
Just be sure to finish all the major unlocking like Lilith statue before the season end so you have the bonus from start. Not a big deal though as process carry over to new season.
For group of 3-4 people, what would be best classes to use for Diablo noobs who have never played the series before ? Any recommendations on what classes mesh well together ?
