Xbox Rumors and Speculation

I agree with you. But some gamers can’t wait. Or some “have heard this all before”.

Doesn’t matter what they heard before. Not like they’re lacking evidence. The “they’re not listening” everytime Microsoft’s next studio purchase isn’t a larger sized story driven developer like Remedy or Insomniac is a bit played out. It’s a different publisher with a different strategy. It’s ok to say their strategy isn’t inspiring or exciting based on preferences but saying they aren’t being aggressive is wrong. They aren’t aggressively chasing Sony’s playbook and I for one think it’s ok for the industry to have companies with different competitive advantages.

What? I never said they weren't agressive..I said I wish they were this agressive in other areas.

You dont have to defend team Xbox and their decision making. They are well aware of what their fans have asked for and continue to ask for.

It's ok to say they f***ed up.

Kind of an abrupt leave of a project. This was the Creative Director for Ghostwire: Tokyo and also worked on The Evil Within. I hope Phil is watching.

I don't know anything about her but for lack of a better term, her energy at E3 was fun to see. Seems like she's really positively passionate about her projects.

The Initiative is already play testing its first game....hopefully we’ll see it soon, but I doubt it will be before E3.

Totally new, but apparently there is playtesting going on already.

Yeah, but the guy who said they're play testing said he considers it playtesting as soon as they're able to do anything within the engine, so them playtesting this new game isn't even really an indication it's nearing being showable. Doesn't even really mean much of anything other than they have an idea of what sort of systems and mechanics they might pursue. Game is likely still years out...

I've never heard of this studio and after visiting their website, I have no idea what it is they (can) do.

Edit: Ok..so I learned a bit more from their twitter.

In juli they had about 80 employees. Half of their team was working on their first project, a cooperative F2P action game, where the players work together to overcome impossible odds.

They like to do photorealism..

Nexon is a majority share owner of the studio.

Patrick Söderlund is a founder and CEO of Embark Studios.

If their current acquisitions is any thing to go on, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a big splashy Japanese studio acquisition. IF they purchase a Japanese studio( as opposed to starting their own) I'd expect it to be a small to middle size company they can grow like Mistwalker or Vanillaware.

In my world they’d do both, start their own and buy one as well

Mistwalker would be a good start.
