Lowering that electric bill is a hot topic these days. I do everything I can (but still live comfortably) to keep my bill as low as possible including washing clothes with cold water, forgetting my dishwasher exists, and placing fans around my apartment to keep air flowing so I can keep my AC use to a minimum.

That said I have a question for anyone who can answer.

Even though plugged-in electronics and appliances still draw power even when turned off, does switching off a surge protector still draw power to the products that use it? Or does it cut off energy usage completely?
