I was going to write this. Not allowed to have attractive female characters anymore, I guess.
Not really. Plenty of big games show more on rails stuff in reveal trailers.
Plus the hero fighting and chucking shows the more traditional gameplay.
Also I don't think it was QTEs just a more on rails bit which makes sense for a boss battle against a giant in its house.
Thing is, when I think back to very long a go, I imagine women would look like this. Not much money. None of the modern beauty products. Poor living conditions. Terrible food. Etc.
Funny thing is Xbox fans were doing the exact same crap to Aloy with memes and making her uglier than reveal trailer haha. Karma.
The character looks fine to me, if the game plays fun that's the important part.
She looks a little inbred. So likely hails from Norfolk. Lol.
Or just customize your character appearance
That would be preferable. But this seems to be a "creative" choice by the devs
Didn’t many from Japan give grief to the way the Faith looked, from mirrors edge?
98% of them are still attractive. People that put extra focus on the few like this that aren't.

Apart from Lady Grey I can think of any Fable character that was designed as "pretty"
Man did you see that new star wars one? Hell, I think cal ccestuslooks lame too, but he won me over. Here is hoping these do too.
And I definitely notice a trend of unattractive protagonists- in western games anyway.
Aloy from Horizon is ugly. The protagonist grandma in Returnal is ugly. Marcus Fenix is ugly, South of Midnight character is ugly, Trevor is ugly, Max Payne is ugly....
Not really seeing what you are seeing on that one. Wouldn't consider her some mega hot character but certainly not unattractive either.
Cal just looks like his actor and they both desperately needed that beard

At least Marcus and max (after the first lol) look like the tough characters that they are. Which one is trevor? Too many characters these days look so.... normal. I don't like it

Just read online that this game DOA. People are down voting the trailer because of the main protagonist looks. The wording in this report is ridiculous. I thought the trailer looked sweet.

It’s not as brightly coloured as their announcement trailer, but I’m ok with that.
I think that's the schtick they're going with, given the camera work at play in her face reveal. A goofy-ass-looking woman who is the unlikeliest of heroes.
They continue to be evasive about it. Reminds me when EA would show their sports games from all kinds of cool camera angles, but the actual game never has those camera options.
