Woah! After 7 this is my most favorite game in the series.

Also all the original fans of it are from PlayStation so probably didn't think it may be worth to make a Xbox version unless MS pays for it to put on GP.
Maybe, but I’m pretty sure the original fans originate from Nintendo, and that remake collection originated with them as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the tried to get it on GP but it’s probably include marketing rights.
LOL, no. It's on Xbox, Nintendo, PC and mobile devices. Not just PlayStation.
I'm sure each number has its cult fans but 9 was exclusive to the PS when first released. Then got ported out after.
Boils down to whether it is worth the effort for them.
How many of this og fans are still alive or willing to play it? Do fans of it who’ve played it else where not count? Is square being dishonorable to gamers/world?
Noone knows or can keep track of all that. They can only decide based on their current circumstances if it's worth it. If rumour is true, sounds like they don't think it is without MS helping out..

Square Enix’s next Final Fantasy remake hasn’t been the best kept secret as rumours have been swirling for a few months now that the magical Final Fantasy IX is the next Final Fantasy game on the cards for the remake treatment at the Japanese developer. Gaming journalist and insider Jeff Grubb has reiterated claims that Final Fantasy IX Remake is in active development though he said that the remake of Final Fantasy IX can’t compare to the scale of Final Fantasy VII: Remake and says that a better analogy would be the difference between Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core and Final Fantasy VII: Remake. Grubb went on to say that it will use the ATB turn-based system and that the classic game won’t change drastically, but it will still feel good and isn’t a simple HD remaster.

Only played the demo back in the day. I've wanted to play the remasters available with PS+ but not sure when I'd get to it. almost worth just waiting for this to come out instead maybe.
