Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy - Rebirth February 29, 2024.

To give you a sense of the scope we're dealing with, Square Enix will release Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on two discs. The publisher also revealed that there's nearly 100 hours of gameplay here. Even so, the game will only take players up to the midpoint of the original Final Fantasy VII.

Shouldn't this be moved to the multiplatform section? It is seemingly only exclusive for 3 months.

Yeah only 3 months. Unless that means the PC version?

Maybe that will be when the FF7 remake exclusivity ends as well....

Wonder if they would still have the not allowed on Xbox in Japan agreement

They have shown the same vague 6 months exclusivity for part 1 remake. I would assume it's the same timeline going forward, PS5 first then PC announcement in May 2024 then perhaps other platforms after.

Yes but we know Sony had the option to keep extending. That might be gone now with the new leadership.

I could definitely see a Switch 2 version coming.

Possible with the rumours swirling about running the part 1 remake. Nevertheless, I would say wait for official confirmation but up to you guys.

But they said platforms, plural, maybe switch streaming version?

Switch is a definite possibility and also Xbox announcement for part 1 at least, maybe at TGS.

Also perhaps separate part 1, 2, and 3 in separate threads since they are big enough to be their own games lol. Unless you guys want a huge cluster f*** orgy which I don't mind either 😬

Some may agree to it as long as we get tested before and afterwards, you may wanna see receipts as well

3 month exclusivity means nothing especially when it comes to Square. Square more than likely won't start working on the PC version until after the 3 months end which may mean the PC port won't be for another year. And that doesn't account for Sony and Square extending the deal for whatever reason. For now its a PS5 exclusive and lets keep it in the PS5 thread.

Maybe this will be why the game is on two discs. Kind of funny how FF is bringing back multi discs like the old days 😅

Given how expensive the game probablly is to make I understand why Square wants higher sales numbers. Not a Square issue per se, but these game companies really need to start reining in these budgets or else no game outside the CODs and yearly sports games are going to make their budgets back. And a game industry driven solely on mega hits is not a healthy industry.

Also not a fan of multi disk games. Wasn't a fan of it in the 90s and I thought we were past it in the 2020s.

Same, but you’ll only need one to play. Hopefully this means it’s a full title like most Nintendo games, and no day one dlc or at all….

I'd temper my expectations. Nobody makes full titles like Nintendo does. Its one of their strengths. Except Mario Kart and Smash bros. They miked that for all it was worth.
