By From Software, the makers of Dark Souls, and Japan Studio! Exclusively for the PS4!

Graphic looks good but need to see more gameplay. I'd imagine it will looks good.

It definitely has the same atmosphere... This is what was previously known as Project Beast, correct?
Yep. Game looks great but I haven't played Demon's Souls or Dark Souls. Plenty of time to catch up. Hopefully I don't rage quit.

In case anyone hadn't seen the recently leaked game play video.

Gonna be a long wait for this one. Kinda wish it was called Demons Souls 2, but whatever. Ill take a game like this by any name.

Definitely one to watch. Most likely a Day 1 purchase for me.

Looks just like Dark Souls, and nothing like the Trailer. Cool if you love those games, but from that clip, it doesn't look like anything new- looks like it was pulled straight out of a Souls game. Even the movement.

Fine by me.

Bloodborne takes place in an ancient, forgotten city called Yharnam, known for an old medical remedy. Over the years, many hopeless and afflicted people have made long pilgrimages to Yharnam in search of help. As the main character, you are one of these travelers. However, you find that Yharnam is also cursed with a horrible endemic illness. You must navigate the perilous streets of this city, fighting off nightmarish creatures, malformed beasts and deranged mobs stricken with this horrific illness. Face your fears as you discover the secrets and mysteries of this dark and horrific world where danger, death and madness lurk around every corner.

In Bloodborne, the combat is based on intense life-threatening battles. One of the ways we are bringing that sense of danger to life is by keeping the deep strategic elements from Demon’s Souls, while also transitioning from the passive and block-and-attack style of Demon’s Souls to a quicker, more offensive and active combat style with close-range weapons and guns.

From the beautiful and melancholic architecture to the debris lining the street, Bloodborne will deliver an extremely rich and detailed world, all thanks to the power of the PlayStation 4 system. In addition, the PS4 system has allowed us to have an expanded draw distance, so we can show more of the world at any one time. New lighting effects allow us to add more atmosphere and tension to the game, making the horrifyingly detailed beasts and giant boss enemies you’ll be facing even more frightening.

I hope to be able to share more about our online features later this year, but I can say that we are developing new kinds of online experiences that allow users to share their adventures. We also look forward to giving fans new ways of playing and sharing thanks via the PS4 system’s Share capabilities.

You won't. I've finished both titles, and if I didn't quit, you won't. Don't get me wrong, I raged and raged at some points, but I never gave up.
I personally have found that their games are not hard as long as you understand what the games are trying to tell you: Proceed with caution always~! I found the thing with Demon's Souls and Dark Souls is that you just approach every situation like your life depends on it, always using caution and thinking before you jump. Demon's/Dark Souls gives death a consequence to burn this lesson into you. Most of the dangers can be averted, even on your first try through a level. If you see and hear a big red dragon circling the bridge, then you need to understand that there is a big red dragon circling the bridge!

So apparently the game is much more focused on offense, as opposed to the defensive nature of Demons/Dark Souls. They claim that a player who tries to play defensively all the time could get overwhelmed by enemies. They are also in the process of figuring out the penalty for dying, which From Software claims they want to be "less severe". Im not really worried about it. I have faith that they'll put all the pieces together the right way.

This sounds like the perfect Souls' like game for me. Horror themed, dark, and offensively focused. (I like to be on the perpetual attack)

The artstyle looks really good and atmospheric. I get a Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust vibe from it, and that is a good thing. Great pics, thanks for posting.

It's not a sequel to either souls game, it's also a much darker atmosphere than the souls-game, according to Eurogamer's preview.
There also are no shield - it's much more focused on dual-wielding, countering and close combat..
Sounds like the shotgun is used as a suppressive weapon to keep enemies at bay, so no shield but still defensive tactics.

Love the artstyle, especially the main character, but the gameplay looks kinda clumsy at this stage.

What gameplay, leaked cellphone offscreen footage? There is a reason they are not showing it to the public yet. It's not ready

well thats why I said at this stage it looks clumsy

this is what i was referring to, i don't need it to be a 4k video to see the mechanics which I was referring to. Its early in development, no worries.

All I can tell from that footage is that it looks really damn good.
