"Game Mode" on or off?

Depends on hat your game mode does. Does it smooth the FPS or does it adjust the contrast? Or does it do both?
I don't notice a difference. I just played 30 minutes of BF4 with it on, then with it off. Unless I'm crazy, it don't do s***.

You need to find out what your game mode does. Mine smooths the frames. When I game I used the highest MHz smoothing I have. Same with watching sports.

It depends on what your tv's game mode means.
If its not changing the colors then its prob the type my set has which turns off much of the sets extra not needed processing off which results in less input lag and depending on the set could be great.
However some sets get errors with some consoles like for example when some sets enable it with the PS3 the screen can blink to black for a sec or flicker for a sec randomly.
What set do you have MW?

I honestly had no idea what game mode even did until I read this thread. I've always left it alone because I just thought it was a brightness/contrast, color, ect... setting. I didn't know it actually did more. I still have my Sony Bravia 52wl140, going to look up game mode on it.

I have a Samsung 46" LCD and it's game mode only ever made things worse (in my opinion) so I never use it. To be honest though I never looked into it much to know what it was all about to see if it was something that could be fixed

Sammy has a different type of Game Mode....I wouldn't use it.

Yeah, honestly it doesn't seem to matter with my TV. I might be blind though.
No man I had the same problem. Normally you will notice the difference when there is something shiney on the screen moving quickly like a wristwatch. It will look different where the watch is moving. Only on the watch. Game mode will make these blocks go away. It also helps with lag. Becouse all the power is focused on what the console does.Instead of spreading power over all the functions that the tv does.
I probably didn't relay this very well. There's an Q and A thread that can help you more.

Samsung plasma with game mode but don't use it. I've tried it before and didn't really notice a change.

I don't notice any difference with it on/off on my Panasonic plasma.

As someone else said, it cuts down on the input lag, it does this by removing or reducing many of the post processing effects that newer TVs have introduced to make images better looking. When using controller, it's barely noticable, I'm assuming because controllers already have some input lag, so it won't make a difference...but it you hook up a computer and use a mouse, you can for sure notice a difference.

I've tried using my large tv and using a mouse feels like moving in water without game mode on.
