Call of Duty publisher Activision and network A&E have teamed up to create a game based on the controversial reality TV show, Duck Dynasty. As you can see in the game's debut trailer above, the main hook of the Duck Dynasty video game is that you can "become a Robertson" through activities like fishing, airboat racing, and of course, duck hunting.

A first-person duck-calling mode is also featured.

The game, which is called Duck Dynasty: The Video Game, launches October 14 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and 3DS. Based on the box art for the 3DS version, it appears it will offer stylized visuals.

Duck Dynasty found itself in hot water late last year when patriarch Phil Robertson made controversial comments about gay people in a media interview. A&E initially suspended Robertson for what he said, but reinstated him just nine days later.

I can't believe people watch a show based on these frauds let alone a company funding any type of game based on them.

Why frauds? because they go around pretending that's the type of people they really are and too many idiots who watch that crap believe it. Reality tv just needs to go away.

it just an entertainment show. anyone who thinks it's real is foolish. I mean s*** you won't find millionaires and that is what the family is still making the duck calls by hand themselves like in the show. They've all also went to college so no they're not as hill billy as they act on TV but really it's just a TV show.

I watched it a few times sure it's fake as s*** but was entertaining and funny till well every show is the same thing over and over again.

I actually get a kick out of the show and find it funny. Of course it is fake. I only live 30 mins from the LA border and a few of my friends have been to the Duck Commander. Wouldn't mind going one day heard there is a awesome resturaunt around there.

As for the game it will suck.

I dunno. I just find it a little strange how far these people will go in the name of merchandising themselves. So many dumb T-shirts or other products at Walmart.

Also, I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone when these people from this scripted show are taken seriously when they appear in Character on FOX News. Then again, maybe it could be argued that most of FOX News is a reality show so it's just a crossover.

First 30 minutes confirmed. Dear god, they just had to remake Nintendo's Duck Hunt. Was that so f***ing hard? Make it usable with the light guns and motion controls available for each platform and they would have been good to go.
