I can listen to Garnett Lee talk about games when surrounded by a group of peers. I can not listen to Garnett Lee talk about games ad nauseam, BY HIMSELF, for an hour and a half. What was he thinking? Has anyone else given this a listen?

No. I find it impossible to listen to podcasts, most of the time. I just don't have the patience.

I like Garnett but his podcasts have never been as good as the 1UP Yours days. I guess that was just the perfect moment in time with the right people. Same goes for CGW/GFW at around that time. Ziff had some crazy talent all in one place.

I've given up on all podcasts except for the Bombcast but even that is not the same after the sad loss of Ryan Davis.

I can't listen to any podcast. They are all boring and pointless.

You've listened to all of them?!

Podcasts are ten times more entertaining/useful than terrestrial radio. It's a fantastic medium that needs to eliminate AM/FM once and for all.

Yup, loved me the podcasts of the 1UP days, Broken Pixels was pretty good back in the day too.

Are podcast like videos without the moving images?
Because I don't even like watching people talking about games.

I haven't listened to Garnett since his 1UP days. 1UP Yours was the podcast that got me into podcasting and it was all because dukmahsik posted a link right after E3 2006 when Sony unveiled their crazy pricing. I even listened to David Ellis's 4 Guys 1 Up until he left for 343. I've met Garnett a few times at various E3s and he's a pretty cool dude. He's lost a lot of weight, too.

I started listening to Bombcast in 2008, but yeah, it's just not quite the same (ditto: the site) since Ryan passed. It still gets my attention every Tuesday, though.

I love longer podcasts. I used to actually make a thing of it and rush down to my local grocer for a meal before I sat down to listen to one. Those were the days...

NPR's Snap Judgement podcast (which is a new one) is crazy good.

...as is This American Life, The Adam Corolla Show (kind of), Radiolab from WNYC, and Idle Thumbs. Quality content is out there. You just have to find it.

I tend to like listening to podcasts as long as they are entertaining. I've never listened to this one, but the way you describe it makes me think I probably wouldn't like it. Unless this guy has a hell of a personality, podcasts seem to be much better off with multiple people.

Bombcast is by far the best gaming podcast out there now. It definitely went a little bit downhill after the passing of Ryan Davis, but it's still hilarious and a great listen.

I've given Garnett on Games a listen and although it may not be as good as 1Up Yours and Weekend Confirmed, I have a lot of respect for Garnett and enjoy listening to him talk. The dude knows and cares a lot about games.

I can't stand the Bombcast, I don't find those guys remotely funny and they hardly talk about games at all.

Hmm, I'm not one to usually laugh at bad jokes and whatnot, especially in gaming podcasts, but those guys are just hilarious sometimes. I often listen to them while I'm working out, and a couple times I almost dropped a weight on myself.

Their recent email segments about poop bandits and delivered horror stories were especially funny.

Though it's only about 50% of the show, I feel their games discussion is pretty insightful.

I really like Garnett. I like GoG too. It's kinda like Bill Burr's MMP but for games. I say he keeps it up.

In saying that, I can't wait for the Cannata/Lee reunion that's been talked about.

The Bombcast is trash. Whenever the guys go to an event and come back to explain what games they've played they just say something like "Game X looks really good." and then Jeff Gerstmann dismissively says "Yup, cool." like he's trying to move things along to the next game.

Idle Thumbs and Gamers with Jobs owns the bombcast because they actually get into why they like/dislike games.

I've been meaning to try and check out Rooster Teeth's podcast, but man, I barely take in any gaming media as is besides the actual games and cinemassacre.
