Seems like game installs have gone backwards with the PS5. It's so much quicker on XSX. Not sure what they do differently.Less than a minute to download, 10+ minutes to "copy".
I read it was something to do with minimizing engineering and development time for the PS5 so they used parts of the PS4 OS in the PS5. This is why its still a chore to update a game on PS5. This is just one part of Sony engineers being in a rush or just completely forgetting or caring about how obtuse the update process is in the Sony console eco system.
Dont get me started about Sony's lack of any equivalent to MSFT's Smart Delivery which was a nightmare for gamers at the start of this generation. Cerny and his yes men engineers missed a bunch of quality of life improvements at the start. But for the game update process I've read its not something that can be fixed or changed with a firmware update so its here to stay.

Well lads, played for a couple hours. Really digging it. Graphics are a nice upgrade. Not as mind blowing as you'd expect, but still obviously better. The quality mode certainly looks best. Had to turn down the motion blur by half though.
It's basically a glorified and very well refined PS4 version in between gens as expected. It is not as big a jump from HZD to HFW but it still looks to be one of the best games out now just because 2018 version looked so good.
Yeah it’s pretty fun so far. Hollywood moments and already great story telling. Controls seem to be spot on. Accessibility options are a welcome improvement. I like that they added audio and visual accessibility options for those that require them. This needs to be mandated for all games IMO.
Visually it’s a mixed bag. Looks previous gen in most cases and animations can be jerky or twitching at times. You can see it on the dog sled quite a bit. I do love the grand feel you get with the large set pieces. You get a true sense of depth. It’s no MWII 2022 graphically but GOW is a different type of game with many more animations going on.
Doubt I'll be able to play until tonight, too much crap going on at work.
While reading a before you play "tips & tricks" article I had something major spoiled. I'm not too bothered by it but be careful if this sort of thing bothers you.

Played about 3 hours and loving it so far! Agree about the visuals and it's probably the most disappointing part for me, but still a very good looking game with top tier animation (agree the wolf sled at the start was pretty rough).
Music and voice acting is some of the best, the story is kicking off, so excited to play more.
Also love how many options there are and how you can change so many things to suit you. Remember to change QTE's to hold! I hate rapid pressing such an archaic design choice.

Impressive feat to release this in 4 years especially when the pandemic just started early on in the development process.
