Godzilla vs Kong

You can tell the human characters/story will be awful again. Will watch day 1 and then complain.

Legends collide in "Godzilla vs. Kong" as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.
Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond.
But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe.
The epic clash between the two titans -- instigated by unseen forces -- is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.

I'm watching Final Wars right now. No matter how much people complain about the human characters / story in the recent movies, they're high cinema artists compared to this.

It does look like there are too many human characters to try to fit into the story again, hopefully they don't spend too much time on them. Of course with Godzilla people complained the monsters weren't in enough and with the sequel many said there wasn't enough character development for the human characters for us to care about them so it kind of seems like a tricky balance.

Did Godzilla have gills in the other movies and I just didn't notice them?

I don't think so because nobody complained about not enough time with the humans it was that the story was nonsense.

The characters outside of Cranston are mostly dull in Godzilla but its practically The Godfather compared to KOTM.

Bah that's not big enough.
I’m sure there’ll be larger ones released later, probably statues or.non passable figures...but who knows? There’s companies like blitz toys making some epic stuff from movies like this

Watching a big monster movie for the human actors quality? LOL
Transformers 1 this may not be, but this is one where you turn off your brain, keep a grin on whilst watching the pretty colours and eating popcorn...maybe if they made an origin story like that of the baddy from from KIppo, where he goes from good to bad and then earning his redemption

Skull Island did a good job with the human/ monster mix.

It's hard and humans will always get more screen time for crap loads of reasons both for the film and financially.

KotM had enough monster Acton the issue was too many humans and the family drama wasn't needed. Still enjoyed it enough though.

I'm watching the 4KUHD disc for Kong: Skull Island now, forgot how stacked the cast was in this. Seems like they've gotten less and less stars as these movies go on.

Skull Island was a good movie, Kong is also just easier to sympathize with because apes are so much like people and you can add emotion to his face much easier than you can a lizard, plus in the old movies westerners were always kidnapping him and taking him from his home. It seems like this one they are moving him to where 'true home" vs just kidnapping him.

I'm sure most of you have seen this floating around online

Some people have been pointing out what looks to be mechagodzilla in the trailer. I know rumors were for a long time that it would be in the movie and there are freeze frame shots that look like godzilla with lights on his chest.

I can’t wait, but not expecting much in terms of characters/story.

They seem to be hinting that Godzilla is being controlled by someone/something..? I guess that will be the general plot, and explain why he’s attacking?

Based on trailer Kong is good and Godzilla is the bad? Or is it all about misunderstand, etc? I want to side with Godzilla. Always like him growing up :) Never saw the last film and looks like some of the characters (Millie girl) came over from Godzilla.
