Feel free to add, but it seems like a solid year for new IPs to me. Especially when you consider almost all of these aim to appeal towards a mainstream market.

I think just a good year in general, but yeah a lot of new IPs look like they could make a splash. Hopefully that's a good sign for the generation moving forward.

Not as big as the games in your list, but:
Ori and the Blind Forest

Oh yeah. I think it's definitely a good year for new IPs. There's no Gears of War or Uncharted yet like at the start of last gen but i like what i'm seeing.

I tried to stay away from the indie games mainly because people usually view it in a negative light because it's not mainstream. I still picked Project Spark though because I think it's arguably the biggest downloadable title MS has to offer from a XBLA perspective, and they're giving it some kind of retail release last I heard.

As far as AAA games go seems pretty mediocre to me. Most the good ones are delayed to 2015 IMO.

The Last of Us: Remastered
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfighter
Assassin's Creed: Unity
Far Cry 4
Little Big Planet 3
Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Super Smash Bros. 4
Mario Kart 8

Great year!
Just kidding, it has been/ will be.

Alien Isolation - I know it is the Alien IP but when was the last time we had a good Alien game ? seems different enough to at least be considered.

Any way from the game I know there are very few that really tickle my interest. My only 100% buys are Lords of the fallen, and below. If you include Alien Isolation and Shadow of Mordor then that makes 4. Not overly amazing from my perspective, but from a general perspective, yeah, not bad. Not bad at all.

I think that and Shadow of Mordor fall under the umbrella of trying something different within the realms of that specific IP. Overall, it's a good year for a more unique line-up of games, that's for sure. The best in a while I'd argue.
