I don't think we know yet what the Xbox One resolution is, so "only on PS4" seems premature. It may work out that way, but we should save the dick-waving until it's confirmed.
I hope they add giant black bars on the top and bottom of the screen too!

Come on, didnt you know the Internets turns everyone into John Holmes...

The source comes from a Playstation Magazine so yeah -- they wouldn't say or ask what the resolution is.
YW
somebody has to speak the truth even when its painful right?

Its painful for some shouldn't be but it is...especially if they own both formats as they can just buy the better version.Hardly painful man. Let's just assume it's 900p. It really is not the end of the world. Yes i would like every X1 game to be the highest resolution, but at the same time i look at Metro Redux, Shadow of Mordor and Ryse and i'm like.....ok it's alright. I barely see a differnce with Metro and Mordor...if at all and Ryse is one of the best looking, if not best looking current gen game.
If Rockstar has most (hopefully everything) the same things on X1 as PS4 in 900p resolution, i am alright with that.
It's clear that Sony has yet again a deal with Rockstar. They had it with GTA V and only showing PS3 version to the press and now with PS4 as well, so it is possible i guess that they only announced PS4's resolution. It's also possible that MS don't want it out there was the resolution is. Whatever the case....i won't complain if it's 900p. Like someone said on this forum recently...900p is the sweet spot for X1.
We don't know the XB1 resolution. For that simple fact there is absolutely no reason to even discuss one version being full HD and another not.
Until facts surface it is purely speculation and therefore trolling as far as I'm concerned.
No need for it.
Wouldn't Rockstar just be able to update the game like Shadow of Mordor had on day one? Apparently you can do that.
As for the game itself, eh. I keep coming in and out of wanting it, mostly out. If I haven't picked it up for the 360, then I don't see myself getting for the X1 outside of a GWG deal.
It was overrated mightily.
I think honestly, MS is not making it easy for developers (like PS3 last gen). I think if honestly answered, most developers will tell you they rather X1 & PS4 closer in power than it is now (30-50% estimated), & have a simpler, faster 8gb DDR5.
Then there will be no need to have the dilemma to enforce parity, which will anger fans of the more powerful machine, or push each system to its limit & then the performance difference will be apparent, then fans of weaker machine will be angry, upset & subject of trolling by fanboys of more powerful machine. Or they can have a more subtle effects like less stuff or effects on screen, so both side of fans will be less upset. Because effects or AA are hard to quantify(unlike say FPS & Res).
You just cannot win as developer no matter the decision.
900p/1080p is about 40% difference, so its roughly the performance difference between PS4 & X1. If MS and X1 fans can accept that game will be a mostly min of 900p (With higher res a possibility), then I think its a nice middle ground for the console game development to move forward instead of continuous debate of parity, force parity, disparity.
60 vs 30fps is also not super obvious but required double the performance. Thats is why we still have so many games running at 30fps. The trade off to run a game at 60fps is massive.and 900p to 1080p is such a small difference. Just just shows how much 40% extra power actually = in the real world. I would much rather have 900P and solid FPS than force 1080P because of fanboy wars.

900p against 1080p isnt 40%. Not in the real world. Try harder....60 vs 30fps is also not super obvious but required double the performance. Thats is why we still have so many games running at 30fps. The trade off to run a game at 60fps is massive.
However, if these 40% premium can be used for say make the world more rich, dense, or more details on existing world, than its more meaningful, & you can see the difference. But no multiplatform dev will want to do this, because unlike resolution, AA, or FPS, game details are hard to scale or turn on/off. You cannot scale a character model for instance by 30%. It doesn't work like that.
That is why, although the power difference between PS4 and X1 is about 40%, you do not feel so visually in comparison.
This is also why cross gen games just do not look as good as next gen game, even when next gen game run at higher res & texture density. Just look at dragon age. Because they have to share the same low poly world, & 5-10K character models, though next gen is capable of character models of over 70k.
