Dead Friends ( Around the Corner )

Everything here is unchanged
It looks like everywhere
This whole area is out of my way
So I rarely come around here

Here are those who went
And those who were made to leave
Here are those for whom I appeared
In the last film in flight in free fall
Most of them are still very hungry
And they don't even have cigarettes
So they just cling to the ideas.

There is a place around the corner
Where your dead friends live...

Some drift through places and thoughts
Blind passengers in subways and busses
Or they simply stand around and wait
Even those who couldn't wait any longer
Here they have nothing else to do
Especially at night they are bothered by boredom

There is a place around the corner
Where your dead friends live...

It is nothing
It is nothing
I call you by your old names
I do not change my tone of voice
I let them fall like they always fell
Now that you are just not visible not touchable
And also unassailable
It's all still the the same
Only you are waiting in between
Not very far you're rather close
Around the corner so to speak
Around the corner so to speak
Around the corner so to speak
It is nothing
It is nothing
It is nothing
It is

Only like 30 kids this year. Next year I probably won't hand out candy.

We had one big group of 7 kids. A couple families all at once and that was it. We're kind of a quiet neighborhood, but there's tons of young kids around normally. Not sure if kids just don't bother or what.

Granted, it did start snowing later in the evening, but it was dry early on.

Seems like kids don’t go door to door much like they use to. Our park, churches, and couple restaurants do trunk or treat/events the weekend before and only a couple on actual Halloween night.

Halloween started to be celebrated about 5-10 years ago here (we always had "all saints eve", but basically only lit candles on relatives graves). We had a couple of kids doing the trick or treat- thing 2 years ago, but my wife didn't have any candy, so she told the kids to go up to our guest house where me and some friends had a gaming night with, what she thought, candy and such....kids knock on the door, I open, semi drunk and without any candy....I gave them two bags of snacks and they wandered off...
They haven't come back since lol
