Few podcast have grabbed me as much as Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. An awesome storyteller in his own right, he gets into detail about all sorts of historical situations. It's fascinating to listen to, as it's both entertaining, mind blowing and informing. I really can't recommend anything better if you feel like being entertained while getting some knowledge on the side.
Right now, I'm listening to Thor's Angels. He talks about how the Roman way of life influenced all life on Eurasia, and about what we know from history. He goes into detail about a people from the north just popping into existence, and thus threatening the legions and their leaders in Rome.
