" HBO has a rock 'n' roll drama coming to the airwaves, written by Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter, and executive produced by Winter, Martin Scorsese and Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger. "

Having been in development at HBO since 2010, the project cast Boardwalk Empire star Bobby Cannavale as its lead last year. Now that Boardwalk Empire has ended, the rock series is set to begin production with Winter as showrunner (taking over from co-writer George Mastras). Scorsese has been tapped to direct the pilot, just as he did for Boardwalk Empire -- and earned himself an Emmy for.

Set in a 1970's-era New York City, the hourlong series is set to explore the breakout of the punk and disco scene through the eyes of a struggling record executive (Cannavale) who wants to revive his label with a new sound.

Joining Cannavale on the series are co-stars Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy), Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises), Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), Andrew Dice Clay (Blue Jasmine), Ato Essandoh (Django Unchained), Max Casella (Inside Llewyn Davis), James Jagger (Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll) and Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire).

Nah finale will probably be great like Boardwalk Empires. Show sounds like it could be great.
