Homefront: The Revolution announcement trailer

atleast its current gen only :)

you play as a guy namend ethan grady

game is set in philadelphia in a time 4 months after the korean invasion

gameplay is open-world-ish ... like in Crysis 1 and Far Cry 1

you can use a smart phone to scan the world, photograph stuff and make calls and detonte bombs

you can grab bricks and stones just from the scene and use them as weapons

it's possible to craft weapons and stuff .... like rc car + c4 = driving bomb

you customize your weapon just like in crysis

You had me worried for a second. I didn't realize the nomenclature had changes and 'next gen' is now 'current gen' and 'current gen' is 'last gen'. Anyway. Looked like an interesting game I never got to try last gen so looking forward to seeing this one.

I've been keeping my eye on this game every since Battlefield went downhill. I know Homefront the original wasn't that great, but it had potential. Now the UK Crytek team is making this game, totally different developers than the original Homefront. Then there's co-op finally in a next-gen game. Nice. I doubt it will do anything to revolutionize shooters like they hype up with some of the marketing being thrown around currently, but it could still be a solid title. Too bad it's 2015 & not this Fall is the only thing...

Seriously? They made a sequel to one of the most stupidest game concepts EVER? SERIOUSLY?

It doesn't sound like a sequel to the original. But I agree, the concept of the game is stupid, regardless.

LOVED THE MP and that's saying a lot from me. The campaign controls were clunky and graphics sucked but man that story kept me playing it all the way through.

Can't wait.

It's really no more stupid than any Call of Duty plotline, which isn't a defense, just saying games with stupid concepts get sequels all the time. I'd be shocked if crytek can make an open world shooter as fun as Far Cry 3 was, and with far cry 4 coming, they'll have direct competition. I've played all the crysis games and they just seem like the most generic, soul-less titles ever. For whatever reason I've just never enjoyed them....

Why is it a stupid concept ? Is it because it's a sequel to one of the worst games ever made or are some of our American brethren actually offended by the game story line?

It's kind of hard to get excited for this game no matter how good that trailer looks or how reputable Crytech might be given how truely awful the original game was. It left a really sour taste in my mouth anyway

I wasn't offended by it, but it not being a very good game certainly didn't do it any favors. I personally don't think it's the worst concept or story, it's all about the execution of it really, I just hope they take advantage of some of the unique situations/ scenarios that being in an occupied state and using guerrilla tactics should be creating. If the crysis games are anything to go by I'm really not that hopeful that we'll see anything beyond tired gameplay concepts that've been done 100x in every other FPS, though I don't want to fully dismiss it since this is the free radical team and not the same guys who did the crysis games...

Couldn't agree with you more. I was hoping for a Red Dawn (the original) style attempt at a game but the first one literally failed to hit the mark on every level, execution, graphics, story, gameplay...you name it. It would be hard for this sequel to actually be worse.

One of the best games out there, and loved playing it on the [HASHTAG]#xbox[/HASHTAG] 360. The multiplayer was also addicting. The trailer is really hard for me to judge what this will be like, but I hope they match it with the original Homefront. I don't want them to just make a new game and plaster an old name on it. It needs to retain the same gameplay and feel.

well you are hoping for alot there since its a totally new studio with new engine

Well then, they may put a damper on things. It might just end up being Homefront by name. Well, I am fine with that IF they can still make it an awesome game. I am fine with change if it's still fun and memorable.

This could be good. It was on ok game with a solid base at least that could turn into something halfway decent if they do it right. Thanks for posting the gameplay video, I've been looking for some actual in-game video.

You are literally the only person I've come across that loved the first game.

Why are all shooter looking so crappy ? Looks like I will be going without a Shooter for a while. Between Homefront, BF, COD, Destiny, and Rainbow siege, I was hoping one would be a little better than mediocre.:(

One of my sisters friends worked on the original Homefront. She's totally not a gamer and was telling me about it, that I should try it out. I never brought it up again, didn't have the heart to tell her that her friends game sucks balls.

I would have told her. And to make sure there was no misunderstanding on how serious I was, I would have had legal council present as I told her.

No love for the new RS? That out of all you listed looks pretty bad ass...

I prolly woulda needed something there more than legal counsel if I did that...

It has the most promise. I'll give you that. but I did not like how little kick back/recoil the guns have. Plus, that games is only going to be as good as the people you play with and against.

That right there. I'm super psyched for the new RS, looks to be the closest to the series roots we'll get anytime soon. However, that aspect has tampered my enthusiasm a lot. That's a deal breaker with most "tactical" shooters though really.

I was playing with lots of people online that were loving the game, and all my friends were huge fans of the campaign too. I only got half the achievements done sadly, but with games on the [HASHTAG]#xbox[/HASHTAG] flowing out one after another all the time, I just keep buying and playing new games and push old ones aside :(
