Didn't find a thread dedicated to horror movies. Post about your favorite movies, guilty pleasures, and upcoming movies. Main reason I wanted to post this is for a movie that just came out yesterday. Limited release but also available On Demand. Movie is called The Void.

I wouldn't be into horror to much but that looked really good.

Halloween series
Phantasm series
The 1st 6 Friday The 13th movies
The 1st 3 Nightmare on Elm st movies

Finally, saw the last PHANTASM. Almost a guilty pleasure because the series plot is nonsense, but it had so many cool visuals and ideas.

Yeah it was the worst in the series imo but still pretty fun. I have both the US bluray boxed set as well as the U.K. Boxset with sphere replica from Arrow preordered.

It looks better than A Cure For Wellness.
I've heard of it but haven't seen it. Can't even remember if I saw a trailer.

Edit: Also regarding your John Dies at the End trailer. I've heard of that as well but was wondering if it might be worth reading the book first. I'm not one to read that much but if something sounds good enough I might be willing to give it a shot.

I saw the movie first and then read the book. I think it's almost better to see the movie first and enjoy it before reading the book and seeing how much stuff was trimmed out. The story adaption isn't bad, it's just that it is necessarily trimmed to fit a movie, especially on an indy film budget. The movie is basically the best bits taken from the book.

I do sometimes wish the movie could have been setup as a possible long Pilot because I think the material is there for a sequel, but that's my wishful thinking. The books might be to weird lol.

Hobo With A Shotgun

Not quite what I consider a Horror movie premise being a revenge flick almost like a Thriller I guess, but it reaches epic levels of violence.

They even use the same font as The Thing.

My all time favorite Horror Movie. All suspense to the every end.

Looks interesting enough. I'm much more into the suspense feeling of horror movies vs straight up gore.

My favorite movie I took my screen name from is Videodrome

I really like movies that use Horror or Sci-Fi or sometimes both to create a massively weird surreal film experience.

Long Live The New Flesh.......

Accidentally ended up on a page that listed all the threads I had started so brought this one back from the dead for the Halloween season. So far this month I have seen Hereditary and The Nun. Two months in one month is a lot for me so go easy. Not sure what to watch next but I have plenty of options between Amazon and Netflix. Might grab a free trial to Showtime and watch The Babadook as that is one I've wanted to see for a while.

Have you seen Trick 'r Treat?

I keep meaning to see that and Krampus. I think they're both from the sae director.

I never did get around to seeing The Void but I noticed it again when browsing films on Amazon.

Also, I saw a post on a film group I follow that the original 70s Suspiria should be on Netflix now.

Weird WTF horror movie adapted from a Clive Barker short story.

It does unfortunately have one CGI scene that actually looks unfinished, but the overall situation is interesting and sort of reminded me of Candyman.

This time, the bad guy is played by Vinnie Jones who pulverized people with a meat tenderizer. I thought Bradley Cooper did a really good job of looking scared sh'tless.

Watched Sinister 2 over the weekend as it was on Netflix. I enjoyed the first one so wanted to check it out. It's ok for sure but nowhere as good as the first.
