House of the Dragon - No Book Spoilers

Based on the jumps I'm going to guess the plan is no more than 2 or 3 seasons. Be happy if the Dunk and Egg tales are next which again would likely be no more than a couple seasons.

Not in viewers
One show lost viewers after 1 episode the other is House of the Dragon.

"Analytics company Samba TV, which gathers viewership data from certain Smart TVs and content providers, reported that 1.8 million U.S. households watched the series' first episode within four days of its release. This dropped to 1.3 million for the second episode, indicating that roughly a quarter of the audience chose not to continue watching after the first. These numbers are considerably lower than the 4.8 million U.S. households that Samba reported as watching House of the Dragon in its first four days"

Did it do better or not?

One is based on 2 episodes the other 1. And what I posted pointed out that Rings lost viewers after the first episode while Dragon has shot up to 29M viewers per episode. But no cling on.

You mean stats that show the numbers dropped between the first 2 episodes.

I know facts upset you but never mind.
Never mind, continue enjoying a terrible adaption.

A dull show scares no one.

But that's you all over, if someone doesn't like something you do then it's trolling.

Going in a thread and dissing something is either trolling or constructive criticism.
Guess which one you do? Hint: You been doing it since TXB.

I don't like it. That video summed up many of my complaints.

You don't like stuff just because of the name on the box.

Might be my favourite episode so far. The opening 6 year jump was a little jarring but everything from the throne room onwards was brilliant.

It seems like too many episodes (work) just to see it start picking up.

I still haven't bothered with this or Rings. Heard the finale for Rings was meh.

These first episodes span about 20 years or so. It has been gradual with a lot of character building, alliances and conflicts forming, etc. This is all clearly building to a major conflict.

Yeah 20 years have passed from episode 1 to 9 to get to the Dance of the Dragons conflict which will then be the main story for the rest series. Martin has said it would take 4 10 episode seasons to tell the full story.

It's also feels like he/ the show runners are using this to crap on how GoT ended.

Really bringing back the whole Prince that was promised prophecy and basically saying Jon is the one to unite the Kingdom and stop the white walkers

It's actually got me to the point that I would be happy if after this they jumped to the Dunk and Egg Tales which finishes about 50 years before GoT then do Roberts Rebellion before redoing Thrones and being more book accurate.
Give us Stoneheart you wimps!

They will use the Jon Snow show to try and fix it

It's a slow burn at first but it really picks up. If you weren't into the politicking of GOT I can see this not really being for you, but as its been progressing it's gotten a lot better.

I will say that the
Dragon scene
at the end of this last episode didn't hit right for me. Didn't take anything away from how interesting the plot has gotten though.

I didn't mind the back and forth with the houses from GOT. I may eventually circle back to this.

Season 2 will also see the other families get more involved and should see the return of places like Winterfell.

I like all of the scheming and intrigue going on, this show doesn't need huge battles every week we all know the main series didn't have them either. I really enjoy most of the cast as well, they all do a great job.

So is tonight the finale of S01?

I should go rewatch the last episode in preparation.
