It's not cheap buying a console(s). I sat down today and weighed up what I needed, the total cost ext and I thought to myself it would be interesting to see what others have spent and or will be spending at launch also. You never know If you read somebody has spent more it might help soften the blow.
Playstation 4: The console itself is a 'late' birthday present from the wife so I don't pay a dime for it. I managed to get 3 games (Fifa 14, Battlefield 4 and Killzone) for $123 (Inc Tax) using a buy one get one free deal at 'Target' (the price includes an additional 5% off with the Target red card).
In turn the PS4 has cost me $123 so far and I don't see it costing me anymore then about $60 more, that will be used to buy 2 1 year Playstation plus subs at $29.99 (bargain) from the local Gamestop on Black Friday.
Xbox One: I am only buying the console at launch, no games. I'm not interested in any launch title to be perfectly honest but I will give the reviews a read and you just never know but at the moment nothing.
Total cost: $530 (Inc Tax I believe).
