Like the title says, how does one come about an exotic bounty? I've been playing forever now and have been doing bounties like a mad man but have yet to get an exotic one...

I just keep doing vanguard bounties and get 1 on average probably every 50-60 or so.

Doing bounties appears to be how you get them. I do as many bounties as I can each day, and I get exotic bounties all the time.

I guess I'll keep grinding the bounties then. I didn't know if there was a certain procedure or something.

I guess it's just the luck of the draw, i try and do all of the bounties when i get on and still haven't gotten an exotic bounty, i've also ever only gotten one random legendary engram drop. And of course it was for a class i didn't use. Though i bought myself an exotic chest piece yesterday and a legendary helmet, also bought a legendary chest piece but since the guy was only selling exotic chest pieces i had to dismantle it.

Would've been good if i could of afforded the exotic auto rifle, i'm guessing the guy (xur) rotates the guns every week?

I do tons of bounties and have only had them pop up twice. The first time I cancelled it because I didn't even know what it was.

i've read theres like a 2-5 percent chance of getting a exotic bounty when you submit in a bounty.

i've done all of them and for the most part all of the guns that are offered are pretty bad. pocket is ok but it's situational and thorn will be better when bungie buffs it.

Thorn's a beast in PVP. Love that lingering damage perk. I've got the Bad JuJu as well, hope Bungie buffs that.

Just got an exotic bounty haha first ever, gonna go for the bad juju as i don't play much crucible and dont think i can get a good kill death spread and don't really like shotguns.

I recommend doing the Nexus strike to speed run it because you're going to have to do 25 strikes at some point in the bounty. It usually takes me avg 7.5 mins to beat the Nexus one.

Sweet, just got a exotic bounty, Pocket Infinity. Finally...
You chose wisely. Pocket Infinity is one of the best weapons currently in the game. The last portion of the bounty you have to break down 10 rare or better fusion rifles. Doing the strike playlist is probably the quickest way to getting them.

Thorn, and the scout rifle have already been buffed. Its like a 2 to 3 shot kill with Thorn now.

Gonna start putting my rare fusion rifles in the vault now in anticipation of the exotic bounty. Does the gunsmith sell rare fusion rifles?

That is a good idea, it took me several days to get them. I think that the Gunsmith only sells uncommon. I don't know for sure though. Seems like I have seen him with a rare AR before.

he does. you need to always be checking. they usually 2500 a pop so save your glimmer.

Its really good in PvP. The only map I don't use it on is the Moon since that's a large map where you need something with a bit more range. I mainly play Control and that weapon is great for clearing out enemies trying to secure a point.

I don't play a lot of Control, other than to complete an occasional bounty. Clash is my favorite pvp game type. Shores of Time is a great map for Pocket Infinity. Pocket Infinity really pushes the range boundary of a fusion rifle. Even if a player is at the end of its range, you hit them with a 3 burst its usually enough to kill them. I agree about the Moon though its just too big. Maybe in Control running the middle back and forth from A & C it might be productive.

Yeah sometimes i have trouble with the tiger strike on the nexus but doing it normal shouldn't be a problem, it sucks to hear people saying the bounties aren't worth it, but i need something to work towards not just striking all the time. I just can't get into the PVP.

I just got an exotic bounty for turning in a Crucible bounty. I looked up its name Toland's Legacy which gives the Bad JuJu pulse rifle. I hope its not as bad as I've read but even still it looks badass so I'll be happy to add it to my inventory.

Yeah i was thinking it was gonna be better then my crappy rare weapons. The thing i will find hard will be the crucible part.

I was actually wrong about the last portion of the exotic bounty for Pocket Infinity. The final portion of the Pocket Infinity bounty requires you to get 200 kills with a fusion rifle playing the Nightfall. You don't have to beat the Nightfall, you just need to get kills while playing a Nightfall.
