Being a Deaf guy, you know I love big bass. ;) Currently, a friend of mine is building a vented box (design to play low bass and very loud.) I will post pictures of box once it is done (hopefully soon). I will even post video (youtube) as well and can play any of your favorite songs in the video if you wanna hear! My wife has more than 400 songs on her ipod.

*Four Sundown SA-8" (v1.5)
*One Sundown Amplifier 1500Dv.3 (1,500 watts in total)
*Vented Box and will be designed to play low bass; tuned to 35Hz or below

You got any system in your car/truck? Post picture if you have any. :)

That should be enough to rattle off every fastener that is keeping your truck together. :hehe:

To give you an idea of how loud this little monster does, check out the video (not mine). Look at the store's windows! ;)

I've never even heard of Sundown Audio before. I haven't been into car audio in 12+ years after getting a standard cab truck. Would be interested in seeing a db reading of what you can achieve if possible.

Sundown Audio is a very new company (starts almost 8 years ago in 2006 by an owner name Jacob Fuller). Based on what I've studied and read a lot of feedbacks, Sundown Audio is said to be very excellent and high-quality subwoofers. They are continuing to build stronger subwoofer every year for a very good and reasonable price. The next line they're working on is NSv.3, which contains more than 2,500 watts in a single 12"/15" subwoofer (see picture below). Man, are they "beefy" sub! Definitely check out the company at Sundownaudio.com.

Subs like those are cool as hell looking. If I were to ever get into it again, I'd need to get some of those shallow mount subs that are 3.5" deep or so.

That's some huge magnets and long throw surrounds. Don't know much about todays subs, but it looks like they'd bump quite nicely for they're size.

I don't have a system in my truck like I've always had in my cars.

I didn't wanna cut the jack mount out, so I just made a mount for a 17 year old Hifonics amp that fits over the jack mount and threw an 8" solo-baric back there and called it a day. Being such a small truck, it'll still blur your vision just like a couple of 10's will in a larger vehicle. :p

So what can you hear Smurf?
Are you completely deaf and just feel the bass?

Good questions. Keep in mind that I'm wearing hearing aids. With hearing aids, I can, physically, hear beats, piano, words/sings, etc., you name it. Take away hearing aids and it's a whole different story. I can't hear anything other than bass punchin' my chest, lol. If there are some of the songs that I really like and I want to understand what they say, I usually go to site for lyrics and follow the sounds along with it. Some songs are easy to understand. Some don't. Once I know/remember the words, everything becomes clear and it's all gravy. :D That's how I do it all the time.

I have a step brother that is deaf. He has hearing aids as well and can talk pretty decently. Don't see him that often though so takes a little bit to get back into it so to speak when it comes to talking with him and understanding. Not sure about him listening to music though.

Anyways, right now my car just has a stock 8 or 10 inch sub that comes with it. I've thought about upgrading the speakers but will probably just wait until my next car.

Nice setup. I had almost the exact same setup in my old Ranger, an old Rockford amp and a super shallow box. There is zero room behind the seats in that standard cab, didn't sound to bad for what it was though.

Same ole' hardware is in the back of my Subie now, with a bigger box.

Sorry for slow update. But here's the latest box a friend of mine made for me:

He said he is expected to complete everything within few weeks or so (He's very busy guy at the moment.) I can't wait for all that project to be 100% done! Will keep you guys posted.

UPDATE: the box is 100% Done!

If all things go smoothly, we will, finally, hook up the system in my truck on June 8th! I. Cannot. Wait! Tomorrow, I will take pictures of my brand new speakers for the doors for you all to see it. They look quite nice.

If that guy doesn't have some kind of super review and side view mirror he wasn't doing much. my brother and a few of my family members were really into their stereos and their rear-views and side views were useless when they had the bass up.

Are the subs in separate chambers or just one with a single vent?

All four subs in a single vented box. I am very curious to see how loud it gets.
